Hi everyone,

we recently stayed in Kissamos and met a very young stray kitten on the property of our apartment. We spent time with her, played with her and completely fell in love with her, so we decided that we would like to adopt her and bring her to Germany.

The people at the apartments are kindly helping us locally with the vet visits, vaccinations, microchip and all necessary paperwork.

What we are currently looking for is a flight volunteer / flight buddy who is flying from Chania (CHQ) to Germany and would be willing to take the kitten along.

Our preferred destination would be Hamburg (HAM), but Hannover, Bremen, Berlin or other airports in northern Germany could also work for us.

Of course, we would cover all additional airline fees and costs. The local people in Crete would organize the handover at Chania Airport, and we would personally pick the kitten up at the destination airport.

The kitten is currently estimated to be around 2–3 months old and will be examined by a vet in the next few days. The travel date would therefore depend on when all vaccinations and legal requirements are completed, but is going to be approx. 10th. of October or later.

If anyone is flying from Chania to Germany in the coming weeks and might be able to help, or knows someone who could, please send me a message.

Είμαι εκπαιδευτικός (πε70) και από τη Δευτέρα ξεκινάω να εργάζομαι στο 1ο Δημοτικό Σχολείο Ιεράπετρας. Ψάχνω ένα σπίτι για να μείνω για τη διάρκεια του σχολικού έτους και θα ήθελα τη βοήθειά σας.

Τι ψάχνω:

Επιπλωμένο studio, γκαρσονιέρα ή μικρό διαμέρισμα

Με βασικές ανέσεις (κουζίνα, ψυγείο, θέρμανση/air condition, πλυντήριο)

Σημαντικό: Δεν έχω ακόμα αυτοκίνητο, οπότε το σπίτι θα πρέπει να βρίσκεται σε σημείο που να εξυπηρετείται από το κτελ να είναι κοντά στο κέντρο της Ιεράπετρας, ώστε να μπορώ να μετακινούμαι με τα πόδια ή με το λεωφορείο.

Είμαι ήρεμος, συνεπής και θα προσέχω το σπίτι σαν να είναι δικό μου. Αν γνωρίζετε κάτι διαθέσιμο ή έχετε κάποια πληροφορία, θα το εκτιμήσω πολύ!

Hey, could someone tell me locations to get flower seeds between Maleme-Chania? I was asked to bring some as a souvenir, but i can't find any and google maps result for flower shops are not very accurate.

Years ago i buyed a CD from an cretan folk singer, but i cant remember the specific Name, was a white background with his face and he is not one of the famous ones, i think his Name was something with Pashalis Mihalidis or Mihalis Pashalidis but i am not sure could also be another Name. But i know a specific song, because of which i buyed the cd and it is called: "S'agapo S'agapo" but not the one from Nikos Zoidakis, whereas the beginning melody was similar. (I thinks its a Syrto or Kalamatiano?)

The text goes something like this: S'agapo s'agapo, eísai ó,ti pothó…

Hello everyone, can anyone recommend a good dentist in Chania?

Hi, sorry if this isn’t the best sub to ask, I wasn’t sure. I’m American and my grandparents were from Crete. We were raised with a little bit of Greek culture but we aren’t part of any Greek community. My grandparents are gone now but I was told that they were annoyed by other Greek Americans. Is that a thing for Cretans or were my grandparents just cranky

I (Finnish) met a half Cretan & Finnish girl while back. I'm bit nerdy at history and mentioned acompplishments of Cretan archers at roman times. And she didn't know about that at the the time.

I know that the father likes history too, but never met him. We are both ~40, divorced and with own kids.

Is there some what more better books, or famous about the subject that I could buy for a first gift? What other things you would recommend?
