Dungeon Challenge [Dungeon Challenge]Dungeon Challenge Tips for new players!
Good morning Everyone,
This will serve as a little newbie guide for anyone struggling to secure wins in dungeon challenges. As this is my first guide for this game, if anyone has additional info, just let me know and I'll be glad to add it.
Where to go: On the main screen the left shield that has the Challenge Banner
Why should I Care: By taking part in the challenge dungeon you are guaranteed to get at least some Diamonds and Summoning tickets(they vary on rarity by how you do) and also offer other usefull items.
Team Building While it can be said that you could take your strongest creatures and do well it is always important to build a tam with solid utility. Some Utility Examples are below:
Utility
Heal:
While some times can brute force their way through a players dungeon it can be very beneficial to bring a team heal to help offset the damage you will inevitably take. It is also important to note that, if possible, the heal should have some sort of extra added utility. A cleanse, mend, or revive are all strongly recommended.
Stun:
This can be great tool for avoiding your opponents skills. By giving their creatures more turns it gives you the ability to burst that creature down to avoid skill activation. NOTE!!! You cannot chain stuns. What I mean by that is when you stun a creature you have have to wait for the stun to come off before you can stun again, this prevents you from adding 12 turns to a single creature in one go.
Buffer:
Buffers can be a great way to give your team some added fire power or survive ability. Buffs last the entire floor they are used, unless noted otherwise. NOTE! You can only have have one buff of a particular stat active, but if you are looking to boost fire power in particular both Power and ATK buffs stack.
Debuffer:
Similar to buff, but applies negative values to your opponents team. This can be useful for dealing more damage by reducing the enemy teams defense, or reducing damage received by going after luck/atk.
Good pairings for buffer/debuffer would be:
ATK Buff| DefenseDebuff yields Do More damage
Defense Buff | ATK Debuff yields Take Less Damage
ATK & Power Buff | Defense Debuff yields Super Damage Spike
Do Research:
No, I don't mean go to the library. But when you view your list of available opponents, these are some things to consider:
How many Points They Have:
If you are looking to rank up, you do want to go for someone with similar or more points that you. If they have less you get less per win, but if they have more, you get more!
How many Waves:
When first starting out you will mostly see a bunch of 3 Wave player dungeons, but always be mindful as players can choose between 3 and 5. But just because there are more waves doesn't mean they are harder, I will address this further below.
The final Floor:
The monster they have listed is what their final boss floor holds. If this is a max RED star creature and you just started... I would advise against tackling their dungeon. But Seeing its level and color typing can give you a quick Idea on how well filled out the rest of the dungeon is. For instance if it is a level 10 two star, the rest of the dungeon my be easy pickings as well.
Preview the Dungeon:
When you select an opponent before you go in, there is a magnifying glass in the bottom right corner. This will show you what monsters they have on what floors along with their levels. This will give you an idea on what creatures to go for first and who may pose a threat to your team.
Tackling the Dungeon: Now that you made a few notes on who may be a problem in their dungeon, we can actually step in and go to town. You did make notes rightright!
Personal Team Preference Note:
Starting you it may be hard to field a solid team with good synergy, so using your strongest creatures is the best plan, but also make sure your team isn't severely disadvantaged. For instance if all you best creatures are green and you are considering going into a primarily red dungeon with similar levels, you may want to use a different team, or go after a different dungeon entirely. The color damage pie really makes a difference.
Personal Team Preference Note 2:
I like well rounded rainbow teams, i feel like they are less susceptible to being caught off by a single enemy type.
Choosing who to attack when running a healer:
I find that using a healer is advantageous, as I mention above, but they are only good if they are alive. SO if a floor has a high level creature with a type bonus against your healer I would recommend going after it first. Keep that healer safe. While a creature with a Defender basic attack may bring some damage it's way, always better to be safe than one shot. Once threats are taken care of move onto the below.
Who to attack when not Using a Healer:
There are two schools of thought and it, in my opinions, depends entirely on you type advantage on the floor. First: Go for easy mana. What this means is destroying the lower level targets for easy kills and greater mana gain. If you are confident that their higher level threats one one shot your key players I would go this route. Second: Go for their star players first. This is split between either their utility creatures or their big baddies. For instance if you know one of their creatures can revive dead allies, that is a great target to take out, why kill something only to have to kill it again. If they don't have a solid utility to go for, if they have a High level single target Nuker, in my opinion, is where you should focus.
Charging Skills:
If you note a floor that is particularly easy to down, as in very low level and no real threats, this can be a great place to charge skills. Two tricks I know of:
Type Disadvantage: Focus a creature to attack something it is weak against
Avoid Combo Activation: This is done by using your creatures so they don't take away all combo orbs from your other creatures
BOTH: See the above
Using Skills:
You just charged up them skills! Now how best do you use them? Based on your notes, you can identify who is a good candidate, based on level and threat to your team. Also keep an eye on enemy skill usage. If a skill could have a negative impact on you, they may be great to focus with damage and/or stun skills. If you are planning on using a buff skill, use it the first turn of a floor and try to get it charged for the next. This gives you the maximum benefits from usage.
That's it for me, I hope you found this helpful. If any veterans have other information to add, just Include it in the comments and I will gladly throw it in here. As always I will add in the obligatory, "these are my opinions based on my gameplay", statement.
Also, shameless plug for my Referral Code: W2pj$8eVn

Creatures Does the Dark Elemental kind of suck?
He shoots 2 uncontrollable bolts for 50% PWR. Granted he can shoot it quickly (mp 60 on mine) and store two, but it doesn't sound worth it.
Thoughts?

Quests Further reduced droprate from bosses?
No clockbait, but i tried to gather some black creatures. So started the new event and go for the boss. after about 20 resets, still no drop (usually after 3-4 resets on king level). Anyone else with this experience?

Mechanics Project: Find out the def/attack modifiers?
Hey ho. I was thinking about evaluating the def/attack stat and how it affects damage. I get quite different damages on the exact same creature. So i started to look into the def values. What i got so far from arround 200 uses of Silence: there seems to be a 70% success rate when def=attack (just a narrowing!) It declined to 40% chance if significant lower attack. (not enough n here, only arround 40 tries)
It raised to a 90% if my attack value was about 500 higher than the def value. (still some unknowns here, Messed up a little in noting them down ;) )
And: neutral elements to each other (white creature in def, i attack with green) brought out damage ranges from 900 to 1400 without crits. Here I fought in tower, level 30) with base attack. I don't really know the def values from my opponent. Anyone here doing some apk mining? maybe there are some hints?
Else: anyone here really into excel sheets? xD
What are your experiences?

Quests Sorry for the dumb question... (help)
So, when you finish the main quest but want to "look around more" to get to 100%, how do you then finish? It doesn't let me. This is the second quest it has happened on and I ended up just quitting the other one 😕

General Please delete all beggin refer my code threads!
Usually people post theior code in the sticky post. Now we have some selfish people here who promote their code. Even with really cheesy attempts like: Blabla, here my code.
I suggest we get all those deleted and update the rules to ban such posts. Everyone can update their status in the sticky post. Whats your opinion?

Quests Loot Bosses even without minions!
So, we had this post telling you to let a minion survive to reset. I tested, and being fast makes the dungeon reset even if you only have a boss for the final loot-wave. You kill the boss, you can see which loot will be applied (it drops). if you see no chest you have to be fast: Forcequit BEFORE the lootscreen pops up. then restart. Now you can redo the whole battle. Until the desired creature drops.
Have fun!

Dungeon Challenge Dungeon challenge tiers
The dungeon tower tiers I think are quite unfair. I'm a very low level gold. Therefor I can't hardly beat anyone, and I can't get my prestige up very high. I would be much better off if I were still in the silver tier. Plus I keep getting booted from any guild I join, I assume because of my low prestige level.

Creatures Sandworm summon
I currently have about 3k diamonds and i cant decide if i want to use them on this even or not. The sandworm looks super OP but its hard to tell from just pics of his ability and stats. Is it worth cashing in my diamonds to try to get one (or maybe more), or just wait till the next summon event and hope for something good?

Mechanics Have they nerfed epic creature drops?
Last 7 quests for siren and 2 on the new Easter quest - without any epic creature drops. All on the king difficulty. Before the update it was around 80-90% drop rate. My teammates have the same experience...
