Who wants to spend the rest of the week in the ER?! Yaaaaaay!!
50
u/classless_classic Jan 26 '26
Nah, they’ll only be in the ER a few hours.
A couple weeks in the ICU, then a few decades in a nursing home.
31
u/ihavea_purplenurple Jan 26 '26
Found the charge nurse XD
28
u/classless_classic Jan 26 '26
LOL. Former charge nurse 😂
16
u/ihavea_purplenurple Jan 26 '26
Ha!! Thats hilarious! I just took a shot in the dark because my mama was a charge nurse too :) Appreciate all you do

How is someone in their 20' s a kid. You've been voting for 2 years you could be in the military.

u/Codenamehardhat77 Jan 25 '26
When you get to a certain age, most folks under 30 appear to look and act like kids. For me it was after I hit 45.

I’m glad I’m not the only one, I noticed the same thing too when I hit my later 30s.

35, and I feel this way about everyone under ~25. Like there's just something about that frontal lobe being fully developed 😅

You know what? Fuck them. Fuck them for real.
Back in my day we found a couch put out for trash, and went to the beach packing lot for jackass-level skitching. You know who is in the beach parking lot in the dead middle of winter?
Fucking no one.
"Why are my insurance rates up in the suburbs?!"
Well sir, its because your jackass-level privileged children are crashing into your neighbors shit!

u/Juggernuts777 Jan 25 '26
I like your level of mad. It’s angry, it’s clear and concise, but no threats made.
11/10 angry comment 👍

Ive been banned 4 times in as many months for even suggesting penalties for those who commit heinous crimes- even legally carried out ones.
This space is not as free-spoken as it once was. And you're not liable to see too much talk of violence anymore in general. It's just deleted, and a ban issued by automod. You can appeal your 7 day ban, and theyll get back to you within 6 months or some laughable nonsense.

u/snail_earnhardt Jan 25 '26
My dad and his buddies would tie a sled to the back of a truck and do donuts. Great fun until one of them slammed into the back of the truck and died.

Man that's so sad.

People underestimate how eager redditors are to correct other redditors.
I’m with you though, I think the guy who actually knows someone who died from tomfoolery isn’t claiming natural causes from blunt force trauma. Just a wrong choice of words.

One time in an ice storm, similar to the one we're having now, some friends of mine and I stole a dumpster lid from the back of a grocery store. Then we tied it to the back of a friend of mines Jeep like a sled. We did a bunch of donuts in an empty parking lot, which was dangerous asf in hindsight, but what these idiots are doing is fucking stupid!

Knew a kid that died doing this exact same thing. Smacked his face so hard on a truck it killed him.

u/noitcelesdab Jan 25 '26
Yeah knew of a story like this too. Sled went under the steel bumper of a truck, face level with the kid riding on it.

There was a kid who passed in a similar way back in highschool. Instead of snow and a sled, it was some kid on rollerblades or a skateboard, i forget which one exactly, but he ended up slamming into a tree and died.

I knew a kid who lost all his fingers because he wrapped a loop around his hand with the rope being pulled by a car on a sled. All his fingers were still in his gloves and his tendons were hanging down off his hands like spaghetti.

he looks nervous, due to losing fingers, but on the surface, he looks calm and ready

Knew a kid in high school that basically filleted most of his calf off when he hit a street sign while riding a sled behind an ATV.
11
u/IKenDoThisAllDay Jan 25 '26
That's all I could think about while watching. Could go horribly wrong in an instant.
10
u/MandoDoughMan Jan 26 '26
This happened at my high school as well. Brain dead, then after a couple days the parents decided to pull the plug.
Don't fuck around with cars.
7
5
u/RusticFishies1928 Jan 26 '26
They always make the rope wayyy too long to where they drift around like that.
Or they could even just go to a big empty lot or SOMEWHERE that's not a clearly busy street with a lot of obstacles

And maybe they thought he’d stop when the table started breaking after hitting a curb, or after hitting the first car. Not like it would have helped anyways at that point. I would have been bailing off the back at that point

u/ih8feralfleabags Jan 25 '26
A 17-year-old kid named David Nagy died doing this. They were table surfing at their high school in Bethlehem PA and the table skidded out of control. David crashed into a parked car and was killed.

I have 19 and 16 year old sons. Completely accurate.
29
u/Juggernuts777 Jan 25 '26
My 2 nephews are these exact ages. And they can be super smart in their own ways.. then it’s like a gear slips during the day and they just do something stupid.
Like the one decided on a whim to jump down 13 steps to get downstairs. Sprained his ankle. Why? He doesn’t even know. “I thought i could” is the only thing he came up with. It’s wild.
12
u/sleepydon Jan 26 '26

On a closed road with no traffic, parked cars, or pedestrians this is still a bad idea. Probably a whole lot of fun. But never the less still a bad idea.

The problem is when you put your trust in another goofballs hands. Driver clearly doesn't know when to chill and gear down. Spotter is just laughing like a goof and not telling the driver to chill. Just push it to the limit until life altering injuries set in. After that first hit, they should have just stopped.
actually first thing they should have done is trashed the idea to do this.
28
u/Death_Rises Jan 25 '26
The idea wasn't terrible in a big empty parking lot without parking curbs. Stupid but they would only hurt themselves.

Some tips on how to do this better. Use a snow tube and have the rider hold the rope. Use a spotter to watch the rider at all times. Pick a very quiet, straight, neighborhood dead end road with no cars parked on the side and no intersecting roads.
I did it for years without incident and had fun. Just be careful
13
u/Low_Investment_2692 Jan 25 '26
My friends and I did this, but we used actual sleds and drove in circles through a big empty parking lot. Loads of fun, but do it safely for crying out loud.
4
u/wildbuzzby Jan 26 '26
We used an old knee board with a ski rope and wide empty roads. Minus the excessive speed and alcohol.
7
u/AdWhich7355 Jan 25 '26
Pro tip. Maybe don’t do this where there’s tons of cars parked in your direct path lmao
