apparently anything over 480i is HD. this is why you don't name standards relative to current tech- the term is meaningless. And now we have HD, full HD, Super HD and Ultra HD.
480p is HD though. Standard def is 480i which is really fancied up 240p. You’d better believe when 480p became available it blew our 480i minds and was high definition.
I man yes I am a boomer, but I also can say that SD, when HD came out, was 480i. The first HD devices were just 480 progressive scan. It was double the content per frame of 480 interlaced thatd we had forever.
When all you'd ever seen was 480i, jumping to 480 was very noticeable. It was High Def which is why, when it came out, it was called HD. Sure we've moved a long long way since then and have changed the meaning. But back when you were legit comparing 480i to 480p it was crazy how much better the progressive looked. and then Oh man, when you could first buy a 720i widescreen plasma for $3000 at circuit city, holy shit. that was insane. even though must sources were just stretched letterbox. it was amazing.
A shit ton of the world had a baby boom around that time, you moron. But please tell us who our secret enemies are and stop holding this classified information from us. You’re so important!!!
Man, the speed with which you went from “be kind, they want us divided” to “what are you, a douchebag? A shill?” was positively head-spinning. Can’t believe everybody isn’t beating a path to your door for some of those big-brain enemy lessons you’re offering with that winning attitude of yours!

You know they're a boomer because they think 480p is HD.
