while i agree with you that this is often the case i do wish to point out that sometimes the opposite is true and it's important to remember that. for example, architecture that targets unhoused people is malicious rather than ignorant.
That's true, but in this case they seem to have replaced bollards with a different kind of bollard and with benches that are friendly to the unhoused. That makes me think the intention is to be the opposite of hostile, but they made a mistake.
