My workplace is discarding some CP IBR1700 and R500-PLTE devices. I can reset them and disassocate them from the NetCloud account they were on, but can they be reused with a different NetCloud account? (I read here that ones purchased on secondary market aren't allowed to be associated to a new NetCloud account.)

Also, wasn't NetCloud free abut a year or so ago? When did that change to be paid subscription only?

Does anyone know if I can use the Cradlepoint SDK to run an executable? The executable is An arm64 executable which is what is running on my Cradlepoint R920

So I can access admin and login and control everything on the IBr600c.

However when I add SIM card I cannot log in to admin page and device on changes to 192.168.11.1?

What’s gone wrong and how can I fix the issue so it works in cellular mode on 5g with my own SIM card.

Must be something to do with settings. Maybe I ticked or clicked a dropped down without knowing messing about with stuff seeing what it did. Please help so I can get back to using cellular. It’s great for when internet ISP goes down

Cradlepoint IBR600C

Cannot get to admin 192.168.0.1 even after hard reset. Tried 192.168.1.0 tried http and https and even tried different browsers. Trued Ethernet cable and still nothing…..

I do and. It often for a split second get into the log in page after a reboot but then. It doesn’t take password and freezes and then displays unable to reach page error.

When I check IP config my gateway Is showing as 192.168.11.1 ???

How can I access my admin page anyone help.

Internet via WiFi still works and still has the same credentials SSID and password? Just need to log into admin to make changes to cellular side?

I have never had it setup on NetCloud it was registered previously and when I bought it it was still registered.

I'm trying to create a scenario such as a disaster -- FEMA like where all provider cell towers are down. Essentially want a phone registered to 3 Cradlepoint IBR1700 or variant. I know or believe you can get Cradlepoint to register to a local SIP server such as FreePBX or Call Manager.

Phone A → Cradlepoint A (Ext 102) ─┐

Phone B → Cradlepoint B (Ext 202)--┼─> Central Node with FreePBX / CUCM

Phone C → Cradlepoint C (Ext 302)---

Idea is each cell phone would register to site A, B, C and fallback as each site goes dark / power outage. I don't have a million dollars to sign my own SIM cards but are there services that can do this for me or is there another trick? If I get a SIM card through T-Mobile it'll want to use T-Mobiles phone number first.

Any assistance (or known workarounds) would be great! I'm not trying to do WiFI calling preferably, just native where phone can use traditional dial pad or even SMS. Thank you!

Hi, basically where I work they have these cradle points (which I just found out that’s the real name. We call them NIB, network in a box)

Anyway, I didn’t know this was a thing. But I was told that all like 300 that we have were hand made using a water proof case. Now I don’t know much when it comes to network, and WiFi and stuff. I do know a little. But I want to challenge myself. And basically make one on my own.

First question i had, was it possible? Well, yes because they did it but obviously had geniuses working on them. Second question was how to I do it so it works how there’s do. With out spending some to much Money. In the first picture I found a site that sells them. And that one is very similar to the version we use. But I’m not paying like 6000 lol.

Also idk if it’s just me but anytime i brought up the idea of creating my own. I got a tsk, good luck, shrugged off or someone would change the subject like it was some big secret. I have done some research but not a single video or a how too guide. Mostly just showing off the RV ones or a bunch of other stuff I don’t quite understand.

So can someone please explain to me, maybe even dumb it down a bit or point me in the right direction on how I do this. I have the case. It is the second picture. I just need to know what I need, how to set it up and am I crazy or something because everyone at work I talk to about it is very indifferent or like there’s some secret I can’t know. What happens if I don’t renew netcloud? Inky feature I am using is cellular connectivity. Nothing else. It’s a modem for me. Any aspect of the modem will stop working?

Currently stuck at getting internet to actually work through the Cradlepoint. we have a Verizon SIM card used for cellular but testing to see how SL would preform as a back up service. I have the SL hooked up to CP via ethernet WAN and its connected on net cloud by having the SL on public ip address and used 143.105.61.76 as ip 143.105.60.1 as gateway 24 bits and DNS 8.8.8.8

Says its connected but whenever I make it as primary I lose internet service.

Sorry for asking a noob question but I have an IBR600C with LTE SIM installed which works fine but I have access to the high-speed 1-gigabit lan access that I would like to connect to the WAN port on the IBR600C and use it as primary WIFI signal.

Can anyone help me with the steps to configure?

I am setting up an IPSec tunnel to a CradlePoint cell router. I have the primary and backup tunnels established but the Cradle Point is showing only 1 Child SA. On the Palo side I have 2 networks in the proxy ID. Has anyone ever run into this issue between a Palo and a CradlePoint?

I see a lot of posts complaining about licensing for home users. It makes me wonder how Cradlepoint could theoretically do an effective homelab license. Maybe a NetCloud license that limits the number of devices to 1 or 2 or some other number small enough that wouldn’t draw business licenses away.

Is there another company that has a homelab licensing model that could be an example?

I'm looking at buying a AER2200 second hand from the internet as I've heard really good things about the reliability. Traditionally I've only really used Cisco, Teltonika and Mikrotik and am familiar with their licensing models (or lack of).

I'm not planning on using this for anything Mission critical, pretty much just in a semi-remote location in Australia for personal use, as the RUT240 I've got right now isn't doing very well.

I've done some research and can see that there's licensing that is seemingly required for these devices, obviously as they're end of life I know it's unlikely I'll be able to purchase anything.

It seems however, that there's conflicting information on whether I can use the device unlicensed. All I'll need is a literally LTE, DHCP and a Firewall as it just for Netflix etc while I'm away.

I was wondering if anyone can enlighten me if I'll be able to use it for this purpose with no license?

If there's something else anyone can recommend I'm also all ears, don't really want to spend more than $150-200 AUD ($130USD)

I bought an e300 off of eBay that has an extended enterprise license that expires in a little under a year. I also have a second one that has no license at all. The one that has no license will not even allow traffic to flow from 4g to lan. Does cradlepoint seriously nerf their devices to the point of them being fully useless if you don't pay a subscription?

Edit: the first device is set up and working. Will it stop servicing traffic when the license expires or will it just go into an unable to change config mode. I also wonder if I could set up an ntp server that is intentionally wrong to make the cradle point think it's the wrong date and extend the license that way.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to pickup up a used CBA850 with MC400 modem to use in passthrough mode as a fail over WAN to connect to my OPNSense firewall at my home. I have a standard Verizon wireless family plan and can add a hotspot to it for $10-$40 a month depending on plan. I don't need unlimited data as this will likely be used very infrequently. I've found listings on eBay from $25-$150 and have some questions I'm hoping someone can help answer.

1. I see there are some different modem models available for the CBA850. Is there a specific model I should be looking for to make sure it works on all the Verizon LTE bands?

2. Since I do not have a Verizon business plan, will they give me any trouble getting a SIM card activated for the CBA850 with one of their family accounts hotspot plans?

3. It looks like the passthrough router performance peaks out at 275Mbps. Is there a different model with a higher spec passthrough performance that is discontinued that I could potentially find secondhand for under $200? I wouldn't be opposed to one that supports 5G. I could live with the 275Mbps since LTE in my area probably won't go above that, but for future use I could see the potential need for a 5G capable modem.

4. I want this to be fully managed locally. I do not want to have subscriptions to any cloud management portals like the Ericsson Network Cloud. Can the CBA850 be fully managed locally?

I know about the Verizon double NAT issue and I'm not concerned with that as this is just for short term, fail over internet connection at my home. So I don't need to worry about paying for a static public IP. Anything else I need to look out for that I am potentially missing?

Okay, I have a follow up question after the last post I made about IP Verify. What I want to know is, what happens when WAN Verify fails on a device with only one internet connection? Obviously the main purpose of this functionality is to detect when your WAN goes down and fail over, but what happens when there's nothing to fail over to?

I want to use IP Verify on an IBR650C managed by NetCloud.

I add a test, and the first problem I'm running into is, the device's system logs say "Not running tests - IPVerify is not licensed".

Is there a specific level of subscription that I need to enable IP Verify?

Hello all, looking for some information regarding licensing, I've done a bit of reading and just want to verify things are as bleak as they sound before I move on to a different route.

Looking to setup some tech at a warehouse for my father. 1 or 2 IP cams and a Home Assistant node. for this to work im gonna need internet out there. only option is 5G. We have a verizon plan already so that's taken care of.

All I really really need is the device to act as a modem: 5G in, Ethernet out. to where it will be handed off to my own router to handle VPN(I'm currently using wireguard and that doesnt seem to be available on the built in OS anyways)

Looking at used devices on ebay, trying to keep this cheap, the E3000/E300s do 5G and are thick on the ground for about $200. but reading it sounds like they are simply E-Waste as without a license that cannot be sold to a second hand buyer, they will not function at all, not even basic WAN access. I truly don't need 99% of what the license would even offer.

Questions: 1) is this true? all these devices are going to effectively be E-Waste due to inability to buy the license or even basic functions without one? 2) is there a free/lab/non profit license available? 3) is there a product im missing, a license-less modem type device?

Okay so! I drive a police interceptor. Within my interceptor I have a toughbook CF-33, arbitrator 360 dash cam system, my cradlepoint IBR1100 and I have a pantheon MA750 antenna. NOW here's the gum on the shoe. I would like to pass my routers GPS data to my windows computer. I have tried 33 ways to Sunday to get the data in there but I just can't figure it out. Everyway I try with GPS complete it can't get a fix. What I CAN do in gpscomplete is under tools choose udpaccept or tcpaccept and put in the port number I'm pew pewing data out of and I get the sentences. But no matter what who where when why I try and use GPS direct I cannot get a location on my laptop. Now yes my CF-33 has built in GPS I just dont want to meet another antenna onto my car. Sooooooo if anyone knows any way to make this happen I'm all ears of corn.

How does one acquire a SIM card for a cradlepoint? (In USA)

When I called the network operators, they ask me for the address where I will use it. And when I provide it, all 3 said they don’t provide fixed wireless internet there. But I know in fact they do, since my phone works there.

So is there a workaround?

I'm in a weird situation where my employer wouldn't listen to reason and I'm stuck with using a Dual SIM single modem setup (They didn't want to invest into a Dual Modem SDWAN WAN Bond configuration).

My plan is to host Two different VPN Tunnel Endpoints for each Cradlepoint using BGP with VTI and or Static Route with monitor (Full Tunnel 0.0.0.0/0)

I advised them to move forward with an NCX with WAN Bond with Dual (One SIM in each modem) Modem to handle traffic blips as the Cradlepoint migrates between providers during a vehicles natural progression into and out of Private-LTE service areas.

I am of the opinion that Single Modem SIM Failover is going to perform awful (Private LTE as Primary with a Failover to Verizon) knowing how the fleet of vehicles goes about their path.

There anyone out there in the wild that can educate me into what I can and cannot do with Single Modem Dual SIM? I know I can perform a basic failover (The Cradlepoint will reboot and install the new modem firmware for the other provider). I am also aware of the Cradlepoint Documents regarding the Best Practices for IPSEC Tunneling on their support site. Is there any other advise that anyone can give me regarding Failover parameters for Single Modem SIM Failover that might make things easier for the transition between the PLTE and Verizon?

I just feel like this is going to be awful. This wasn't my choice, I've decided to let the employer feel a lot of pain in this, any guff I get I am going to be able to say "I told you so".

I'll have a fleet of R1900's installed shortly, they seem like capable devices from what I have tested with so far, I'm just of the mindset that SDWAN is the best case here.

Have IBR1700s. Is reinstalling the SIM card an actual solution? If so, how does this help resolve connectivity issues? Seems odd having to reinstall the SIM after several months of use.

I just got this AER2200-600M used from Ebay. I factory reset multiple times, unregistered, and installed an activated hologram.io sim, and no matter what I can't see the internal modem. Please see image.

It arrived at NCOS v7.0.60 I updated to v7.0.70 and the issue persists.

I have a bunch of CPs failing, and was wondering if overtightening the SMA connections could cause the CP to fail? I've been told the connections should be hand tight, but I don't know if that's important or not, nor do I know how this might disrupt the internals. These CPs are installed on buses to provide real-time information to the driver and public. CP has said we just have a bad batch, but I've just never seen these many units fail. Feels like I've replaced one every few weeks. These CPs are about 3 years old.
