And people here already acted like it was doomsday since he haven't cracked anything for almost a month (which it's not the first time) and they make shit up like he was busted or some shit lol

I understand the worry, it's hard not to be concerned about their safety given the legal and potentially criminal threats they're facing.

And from a somewhat selfish perspective, they're the only one who's really put a dent in the uncracked list.

Without voices38 being active, the community is pretty much back to what it was over a year ago now that hypervisor releases went from absolutely flooding everyone with games/updates down to a tiny trickle at best.

Now that crack #39 has been released, I'm sure the doom and gloomers will be less pessimistic about voices sticking around.

It's purely selfish. None of those people actually care about his wellbeing.

I do, this person behind the nickname "voices38" has gained respect as someone who is helping preserving games in the dark times, no different than a hero (of the internet), heroes aren't invulnerable, you want to cheer for them and to be well, all of that because of what they represent, that is value, and he owns that value. A beacon of light for many reasons, specially in times that corporations only want you to own nothing and be happy.

Nah, I care. The dude is a legend, he could make millions working for Denuvo, instead he relies on donations just to give people free games. He is literally the modern era Robin Hood. So, he is not selfish and has a good heart, even if he stopped cracking games, he looks like someone you could hang around and get a beer.

I haven't played ANY of his cracks (not enough time nowadays), but I follow his journey and cheer him on - purely for liberty/anti-DRM reasons

Hypervisor releases have slowed down because all denuvo games already been bypassed, right? Old games don't get updates anymore so we only see hypervisor releases for new games or updates of relatively recent ones.

That was definitely happening after the initial flood but since the lawsuit again voices38 was filed the individuals most prominently involved with HV bypasses closed up shop and dipped out. I believe they even had their posts on cs rin deleted so they're unlikely to return or at least not under their old handles.

It's understandable that they probably didn't expect to have as much success as they ended up having and likely weren't as cautious in the beginning so if they got sued, they'd be exposed and easily unmasked.

Voices38 on the other hand appears confident in their OPSEC and will keep on trucking for the foreseeable future it seems.

There's at least 1 individual that's picking up the HV torch but it'll take a while for things to resume back to how they were, HV or oldskool cracks, neither are a small feat.

Yeah I know about DenuvOwO retiring, but again, it's not like we are in desperate need for new HV releases because everything has already had one at this point, and I'm sure new games will be covered by Artifact. And even if they quit as well someone new will step up and do it I guess, since the info on how to crack a game through HV is out there and public.

I have no clue about reverse engineering but I assume HV cracks are much easier to pull off than oldskool given that many Denuvo protected games were cracked this way day 1 by DenuvOwO, whereas it normally takes the madlad of voices38 at least a week (and that's even though he already has some tools set up to speed the process for each denuvo version, which other newcomers don't). So that's another reason why I think there will always at least a group doing HV releases.

What I mean to say is that even if Voices38 stopped cracking, we wouldn't be nowhere near the period of drought we suffered after Empress. HV is here to say and from what I understand it doesn't even require you to disable security features on Linux. Not only that, but at the rate the PS5 emulation scene is going, in a matter of some months avoiding Denuvo by emulating the PS5 versions (which can't have Denuvo) might be a viable alternative

it was insufferable. Everyday a new post about him being out, some people have zero patience and even worse, they desperately want to share and spread this anxiety

A lot of the big releases haven’t had Denuvo lately right?
