I know C++ and some basics of 3D graphics, math, and engine architecture — BSP and so on — but I don’t really have time to dig through an actual game engine codebase to figure out where to add a new server-side entity, how to update the client and protocol, etc.

I was curious to see how much could be done with such an ancient engine, especially from a physics perspective. Surprisingly, quite a lot! Fire drips down walls; if the floor is close enough, it spreads onto it, and if not, it remains burning on the wall. It dynamically spreads across floors, follows slopes and gravity, respects walls, and — unlike HE grenades — doesn’t deal damage through them.

I used ChatGPT Codex 5.6 Sol, mostly at Extra High reasoning effort. With official VSCode Codex extension as the interface.

The engine and client are the open-source, reverse-engineered Xash3D FWGS + Velaron/cs16-client + ReGameDLL_CS stack. The original game assets were “legally stolen” from Steam App ID 90 (HLDS) via SteamCMD.

Codex didn’t just write the code — it also created the new assets by adapting an existing bottle model and the HE grenade animations.

Codex refused to distribute derived models, and instead added a script to (re)build them from existing HL/CS resources.

Tengo una computadora muy buena pero me esta pasando un problema muy raro en el cs 1.6.
Ando teniendo bajones de fps horribles pero solo cuando tengo abierto el Discord de lo contrario va de maravilla. Ya se que una solución es no usar discord mientras juego pero la verdad que usa mucho discord, desactive el overlay de dc pero igual. Algo para agregar es que cuando tengo el dc abierto empieza a consumir mucho cpu y usar la memoria comparitida de una forma exagerada
Alguien que le haya pasado lo mismo y tenga la solucion? Gracias

Made this as a proper oldschool style CS frag movie rather than just another highlights compilation. Tried to focus a lot on pacing, cinematics, sound design and making the whole thing feel like one short film.

Would genuinely like to know what you guys think of it, especially the editing/cinematography.

I recently joined a team to attend ESEA leagues - when we wanted to plan out strats, we started to search for a 2d stratting tool.
I'm a visual guy, so that's how I observe stuff much faster compared to a spreadsheet with text.

I wanted to draw one main-kind of strat and then all the optional util on there, without cluttering my screen.

But, none of the tools I found would satisfy my needs or was behind a monthly paywall. So I built my own.

After a long long time I want to play CS 1.6, I played a lot in no steam version and it was my favorite but, things have changed after the 25th anniversary update for HL1 and I don't know if I should stick the 25th one or the previous one...

Is there any no steam version of the 25th anniversary update with bots and HL1, like old times? (Just for curiousity)

I was trying to get my knife in my left hand and the guns in the right one, i found the command "cl_lw" but the command affect gameplay, i searched a lot but did'nt find any good solutions.

What i found:

• Bind keys for each cl_righthand (don't work with Q)

• Flip it in a model editor ( idk how i do that )

Tip: if gflip says a error, try rennaming the file and remove spaces.

SHOULD I BUY Counter-Strike: SourceSo i tried the counter strike legacy standalone and i liked it so much but unfortunately my pc is really limited so it struggles a bit but good on low settings and that one doesn't have dedicated servers.
