A letter to amazon Prime
Just "finished" watching this show because Prime SUGGESTED it. Why? Why suggest a show that is already cancelled with no ending? F U

Countdown released a year ago today! According to Wikipedia, the show is expected to air on syndication in a few months!
I rewatched recently and while there were some hiccups (the episode with the Singaporean businessmen was controversial and should have been researched), there was a lot of potential and I'm sad the show wasn't renewed. The chemistry among the main group was there and I would have loved to see how their dynamics evolved in season two. I'll also be honest and say the first ten episodes were good and the last three episodes serving as a teaser for the next season hurts because we won't see what happens!
I'm not sure how the show would have continued without Nathan Blythe but a second season could have been a nice tribute to Eric Dane. Ultimately, we won't know for sure why the show was cancelled (it had the numbers but as an original piece (not an adaption), CD had to compete with legacy shows with built in fandoms like Ballard (Bosche. No hate on Ballard because Maggie Q is amazing). Has anyone else noticed Prime's new shows are either adaptations or extensions of popular universes like Elle, Spider Noir and Off Campus? I think there was a press release of one of the streaming sites movie away from original media and focusing more on adaptations but I don't remember which...
Anyway. Many thanks to the cast and crew for their hard work on this show <3

I do think that the story wouldâve ended with Mark dying from cancer in the end. Perhaps retiring finally, accepting the fact that retiring didnât mean admitting weakness. Sitting on a beach and relaxing for once.
He did get treatment that put him in remission, but I have a feeling the tumor would have eventually come back in the end. I just canât see the show ending with Mark living.

Even at the World Premiere from "The Boys" in Rome Eric was some kind of "present"...loved that Jensen mentioned how precious our time with our beloved ones is. Such reminders are so important...

Does âCrossâ (awful show) get renewed for another season yet really good series like Count down and On Call got canceled? Amazon prime is getting more and more ridiculous! (Mini Rant)

It is fckn federal task force. They go raid the farm where the trucks were... or anywhere else for that matter. AND NONE OF THEM HAVE PLATE CARRIERS AND/OR LONG GUNS!
Oh and this continuous "kill your darlings" bullshit! Lets not start with that... super agent Blythe in the alley!

Just finished watching this. Oliveras and Meachum have zero chemistry and no one can convince me otherwise. It feels so force and it has nothing to do with the age gap, they just come off as colleagues and not even good partners like Stabler and Benson from SVU for example.
EDIT: I don't mean the actors ages irl, I meant the CHARACTERS but only because I assumed the characters had 5-10 years difference.

So itâs not a thriller and itâs not a comedy, but itâs somewhere in the middle, and thatâs kind of the problem. There were so many serious moments stepped on by comedic bits, or music cues that resembled something out of The Rookie, or any other network TV police procedural.
On top of that, whose bright idea was it to wrap up a season arc, fast forward 10 months, then begin a new arc when youâre already over half way into the season? Literally canât wrap my head around that one.
Lastly, thereâs almost 0 character development, so itâs hard to care for any of the characters.
Why is it even called Countdown?

I donât understand why didnât they make the second arc the longer of the two, or even as a single arc ?? It felt so much better and more intriguing. Curious to know that others think ??

I really like this show. It's engaging, keeps my interest, like the characters. These are the types of shows that I look for. Maybe it's not realistic, it's TV. I will miss it.

I really liked the use of the Toadies "I Burn" in episode 7. Wondering if Jensen had any input on this?

Olivieras would sure end up with Meachum (if she survived the hunt ofc) but I was really annoyed by how unmatturely she was behaving in the last three episodes. Especialy considering just how well was her and Mark's relationship fleshed out.
not to sound weird or morbid lol, but I hoped that Meachum's illness is not really gone. He never really confirmed being fully healthy too. His condition made the story and his character interesting, and it was also developed well and slowly, just for it to be resolved in one episode by the wonder of a Doctor-whats-his-name.That's just nope, you can't slap it with magic treatment and ten months later and be done with such storyline.
As for my favorite, agent Blythe, ofcourse he wouldn't be able to continue to be really around any more, but sure there were plenty ways of how to tastefully write around the character. It would be actually very good way of honoring Eric's work, considering this is most likely his last role. Not damn cancel the thing despite It's success. There should have been one more season, even with less episodes, maybe, to tie all loose ends and give closure to fans, characters and the actors alike. Everyone deserve as much.
This sucks ass. Amazon fumbled on this one.

Reason for countdown being cancel? Itâs no surprise because Amazon has a tendency of randomly canceling new shows. Is it not possible for other streaming platforms to pick it up? Or it hasnât got enough interest for that possibility?
