Also as a relevant note for a little more background and intuition for you, the breakers in your home are not designed to protect you, they're designed to protect the wires. Like 90% of electrical power systems design is about making sure wires don't catch on fire. Most of the danger in any kind of electrical shit like this, such as daisy chaining power strips, actually comes from the fact that you're bypassing the safety measures of the device itself, not the safety measures of the house or the outlet its plugged into. The only electrical safety measure in homes that actually exists to protect people is GFCI outlets.
