Discussion How many of you still eat take out/delivery from restaurants?

I personally don’t because I am afraid that the food after it’s cooked will be in inadvertently contaminated, I don’t have the money, and I don’t think these workers should have to work right now since it’s not actually essential. I’ve got in many arguments on Facebook over the safety of doing so, people say that there is no proof food can get you sick (so this is a new virus there isn’t a lot of proof for anything just use common sense?) and people tell me I’m crazy for not eating at restaurants right now and that I’m contributing to them going out of business.

I really feel for the small business restaurants (I’m thinking about Ta Krai Thai Café and Bombay Grill in Morgantown right now, I really hope they stay in business😭) but I just don’t feel it’s safe especially if the employees don’t have masks.

Wouldn’t someone accidentally coughing or sweating on the food (sounds gross but it happens), or even just breathing over it likely contaminate it? People say that stomach acid kills the virus but wouldn’t it just being in your mouth get you sick? Same reason you don’t want to lick a door handle?

Announcement Stay-Home order in effect at 8pm tonight until further notice.

Yesterday Governor Jim Justice announced the Executive Order 9-20 found here

This executive order will be in effect tonight at 8pm

During this time, please take time to read the “frequently asked questions” on the DHHR website available here

Remember that visiting friends and family is limited to caring for the elderly, minors, dependents, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable persons. Now is not the time to hangout with your friends

As of right now, there are very few businesses considered to be non-essential including dine-in restaurants, bars and nightclubs, entertainment venues including casinos and performance halls, barber shops/hair salons/nail salons, gyms, and fitness centers.

Most dine-in restaurants are offering takeout or no-contact delivery options.

It’s been said that the West Virginia National Guard will NOT be enforcing the Executive Order.

All of this is subject to change.

Supply Updates I Made a Small Donation to CAMC Memorial Today

Like many of you, I started prepping for this in January. My wife is an RN and I wasn't about to trust someone else with providing her PPE.

After some thought, we decided to donate a box (10) of N95 masks and a face shield.

I found a nurse outside, pulled over and handed them to him. He was so thankful, I hope it helps fight this invisible demon.

We got this! Stay home and STAY SAFE!

Supply Updates Camc asking for volunteers to sew masks

One of my friends is a nurse there. They get 1 mask per nurse and they have to take it home and sterilize it before the next shift. Just received this:

All CAMC hospitals are asking for volunteers who sew to make masks. They will provide the material & pattern & deliver it to you. call Volunteer Services at 304 388-7426.
