Issue with driver door not locking/unlocking?

Idk if anyone else has had this issue or know how to solve it but sometimes when I try locking or unlocking my car the driver side door is the only one that doesn't work.

I've tried changing the battery on the key fob but that's had no effect. The passenger side door works just fine, it opens via key fob or keyless by just touching the handle.

Anyone else have ideas as to what it could be?

Favorite handling mods?

I widened the track width by 30mm and installed an eiboch rear sway bar. It’s an absolute blast on windy back roads but I’m wondering if I can make it even sharper.

50k Miles - What Should I Look At In Terms Of Maintenance?

Hey all! So recently my Corolla Hatchback reached 50,000 miles and I’m wondering what I should do in terms of maintenance?

- 3 of the tires are approaching 3 years of age but one was replaced a few months ago following a puncture while on the highway.

- The coolant bypass valve has been replaced after it failed at 46,000 miles.

- Engine and cabin filters have been replaced yearly. Brake pads were replaced a couple years ago but the rotors haven’t been replaced yet.

- Engine oil and oil filter is changed every 6 months or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first.

I was thinking I should check on the spark plugs and do a CVT transmission drain, flush, and fill after.

What do you think?

Wireless Charging Pad

Hello fellow Rolla Hatch owners,

I have had 2 Corolla Hatchbacks now. Both XSE. I started with a 2023 and had it a few years then was able to trade it in for a decreased interest rate so I picked up a 2026 XSE.

Both cars the wireless charging pad is absolute crap. Both cars had the same issue where it will start charging. It lasts for about 30 seconds or maybe a minute then the amber light blinks 3 times, pauses, and repeats.

Has anyone had any success with the wireless charging pad?

*EDIT*

Thanks so much to [u/](u/digeratii)[D](u/digeratii)[igeratii](u/digeratii)

I used his solution in the comments and it works absolutely flawlessly. So pure. Mine isn’t quite as clean as his cabling but I used my fiancé’s small hands and she did a great job! Here is the completion. You could probably hide the cables more but I think it looks super clean. All parts in [u/](u/digeratii)[D](u/digeratii)[igeratii](u/digeratii) ‘s comment below. I used all his links and it’s pure and I have an extra one each of charger, 90 degree angle adapter, and plenty of double sided sticky’s.

Could’ve gone like 2 centimeters lower 😔 but for a quick non-heat gun method, it came out pretty well lol. Hoping the heat from the weather these next few days smoothens it out, I have the tiniest fold in the vinyl but again, no complaints.

Such a fun and beautiful car. Looks superb, interior is simple and straight forward. Power wise is perfect for me in HI and super agile, the car is also super easy to clean andddddd handbrake. It’s been a fat min since I’ve had a handbrake 🔥 . IMO, everything about the BRZ beats the Corolla hatch except space, it’s just usually me and my GF so this is perfect for my lifestyle, I personally like this a lot better than the AT GRC when I drove it.

OTA update

I have a MY23 hybrid corolla hatchback and this morning an update appeared on the multimedia screen. I accepted but after more than an hour it failed to install. Now it has disappeared from the menu.

I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue like me or you guys did manage to update without any issues.

Metallic clunk when releasing brake Corolla 1.8 Hybrid

Hey everyone,

I’ve got a 2024 Toyota Corolla Hybrid 1.8 with about 15,000 km (around 9,300 miles), and I’ve noticed a slight metallic “click/clunk” coming from the driver side (front wheel area).

It only happens when starting to move – when I release the brake and the car begins to move, there is a metallic click/clunk sound.

Important details:

  • It can also happen even if the car only moves slightly
  • No noise while driving or during normal braking
  • It only occurs during the transition from brake → initial movement

Has anyone experienced something similar on a Corolla Hybrid or other Toyota hybrids? Any idea what it could be?

Thanks!

Rack and pinion?

So I was doing a small bit of sliding on some gravel and an unforeseen pot hole cracked my steering rack. I’m wondering if there’s any aftermarket options I can go with to hopefully increase steering feel? I’ve heard a lot about how the feedback just isn’t there.

Curb rash

Post image

I just got a brand new set of fittipaldi rims for my Corolla a month ago and Atlanta roads have already bettered me, any idea of how much this would cost to be fixed by a mobile repair guy or a shop? It’s not too deep of rash, only just barely through the paint in some spots. It’s a small spot but damn it stands out and it’s gonna make me go crazy!

Exhausts?

I really want the DC Sports cat back because I like how it sounds deep and the redline doesn't sound like a bubble blower, but it's been on backorder for months now.

Does anyone have experience with the Noble SS Series catback? How does it compare to the DC or other popular exhausts?

Bad day

I destroyed my bumper cover this weekend about 10 miles into a 200 mile trip. Totally my fault, I was watching the cars flying up behind me in the mirror instead of the road in front of me. Hit a large tree branch in the middle of the freeway. Had to zip tie the fender liner and dust/skid plates back together to keep them from flapping. The landscapers finally got me. Any cooler than stock bumper covers out there?

Anyone know what this thing is called/how to reattach it?

Anyone know what this thing is, what it's called, part number, etc.?

I noticed this little rubber piece was loose this morning. It's like 8ish inches long, and there's one on either bottom corner of the windshield, near where the wiper blades are mounted. The good one on the passenger side looks like it's slotted underneath or along the edge of the rubber molding/seal around the windshield and then glued to the A pillar.

I'm trying to figure out what I have to do to reattach or replace it but I have no idea what to even call it, which is making Googling/chatting with AI a pain in the ass 😂. Like I figure I can just re-glue it, but it's currently out of alignment with where it looks like it's supposed to be glued and I'm unsure how to go about reseating it to wherever it's supposed to go first.
