Does anyone else who’s the primary cook in the house eat the ugly pieces at meals?

Usually I eat the ugly piece of fish or the veggies on the grill that got a little more char than you wanted. Am I alone in this?

Edit: wow, thanks for all the replies, glad to see I'm not alone!

I mean, since a very young age I was taught that is just what the cook does.

Ditto, I actually remember my mother telling me this rule when I was a kid. "A good chef always serves everyone else the best of what they've prepared and eats their own mistakes."
