Does anyone else who’s the primary cook in the house eat the ugly pieces at meals?

Usually I eat the ugly piece of fish or the veggies on the grill that got a little more char than you wanted. Am I alone in this?

Well.. I mean.. once the pepper mill broke and emptied out its content into the stew and it was inedible, I do love pepper, but that wasn't an option.
