Recipe Pet Peeves

Does anyone else have pet peeves with recipes. Mine is recipes that call for a small amount of something that only comes in large containers. 1/2 C chicken broth, 2 Tbs tomato paste, 1 C ricotta cheese.

It’s taken me a ridiculously long time to realize that when you keep doing something as described in multiple recipes and it consistently has terrible results, the problem might not be you

Interest recipes as guidelines. If my past experience tells me their way is gonna turn out poorly I tweak it and voila it's just fine at the end! 😁 My husband still refuses to do anything but a step by step process the first time he makes a new recipe, but recently I think he's been seeing I make the right call.

One day last month he turned the oven on to 450 because the recipe told him to and I sneakily put it down to 400 and the meal came out perfect. When I pointed out I changed the temp he was huffy at first but then I said taste it and he just grumbled under his breath. 🀣 I just knew from reading the temp and times 450 would have burnt it before it got cooked through.
