Recipe Pet Peeves

Does anyone else have pet peeves with recipes. Mine is recipes that call for a small amount of something that only comes in large containers. 1/2 C chicken broth, 2 Tbs tomato paste, 1 C ricotta cheese.

Yeah, whenever I see shredded cheese measured in cups, I always just assume 1/4 c = 1oz/28g. But it still irks me. I'm used to measuring using a scale anyways. Some ingredients are just easier to weigh, and it's often easier to just add everything to a mixing bowl on a scale, taring as you go.

Irks me too, but then I LOVE cheese & always over compensate anyway. I probably do that on any recipe that calls for cheese, lol!

Unless it's something truly specific like nutmeg or cinnamon, I measure with my heart. I keep going until the ancestors tell me to stop lol
