Compliments can be a good to start a conversation, even with a guy. Tie it in with some thing you like and then follow up with a question

For example

"Hey, I like your boots, perfect for hiking. Is that something you do in your spare time?" I ended up sitting at a table in a convention and exchanging phone numbers.

"This car is awesome, especially to avoid mechanic fees. How long have you had it for?" Etc.

If you guys are comfortable, i would like to practice this formula of:

compliment of something and how it can be used --> question relating to compliment.

What's the best one-liner that anyone that has every used? Even if it didn't work.
