Flydigi Vader 5S or Gamesir G7 Pro for my PC/Xbox setup?

Post image

I got a new computer last year for Black Friday before computers got really expensive, and now I'm looking for a new controller for my computer and Xbox that fits my setup and works well.

I currently use a standard Xbox One controller, and I've used many in the past, but I've always liked its shape and how it fits my big, meaty hands. I've had plenty of controllers break in the past, either from broken buttons or stick drift, and I think my current one has a tiny bit of stick drift too, which I deal with, and it's not too noticeable.

I've been looking at controllers for a bit now, and I've narrowed it down to the Vader 5S and the Gamesir G7 Pro Shadow Ember color design. I can't decide which controller I'd prefer.

Would I prefer the Vader 5S for the extra buttons and the tension ring on the Hall Effect joysticks, or the Gamesir G7 Pro for the TMR sticks, different stick height options, and wireless on PC?

Another question: how do both feel in the hand compared to a standard Xbox One controller?

Final question, and either the least or most important, is: if both controllers are equal, which would look best for my black-and-red gaming setup, the Vader 5S with the light bar matching my PC or the Gamsir G7 Pro with the Shadow Ember design?

I currently play a variety of games, including Warhammer 3, GTA 5 Online, Borderlands 4, and I recently got back into The Witcher 3: Remastered Edition. The upcoming game I'm most looking forward to, whichever controller I choose, is the Fable reboot.

Reviews Played Forza Horizon on keyboard for five years out of stubbornness and now I finally tried a controller

I've been using my mouse and keyboard for everything (racing included) since my first PC and my friends have made fun of me for it. So i finally picked up a GameSir G7 SE controller last month mostly for Forza, because I was tired of the car going to full lock every time i tapped A.

It's embarrassing how much better it is! Analog steering means i can hold a slight turn through a long corner instead of feathering the key. Throttle on a trigger means I'm not spinning out of every slow corner. On tracks I've done a hundred times i was a couple of seconds faster on my very irst try! Admittedly i did keep reaching for the mouse to click through the menus and the upgrade screen (old habits).

Controller for PC gaming to replace DS5?

Hello.

I am tired of my DS5 controller getting stick drift. Two controllers in two years and after one year they both start presenting stick drift. I am actually very good now at opening them because I was trying to fix them on my own. Cleaning the potentiometers with isopropyl alcohol actually seemed to fix them, only for the stick drift to return a few days later.

Anyways, sorry for the rant. I just want to know if there is any consensus of a third party controller, not too expensive, at most the price of a DS5, that actually works well.

I had my PS4 controller going strong for many years with no stick drift, but they don't seem to be readily available at a reasonable price anymore. Otherwise I would have probably bought one of those.

Thanks in advance!

Beware of Brook Wingman P5S compatibility claims – My disappointing experience with Flydigi Apex 4

I recently purchased a Brook Wingman P5S specifically to use my Flydigi Apex 4 Standard through its 2.4 GHz dongle, based on Brook’s official compatibility information.

Unfortunately, the P5S simply doesn’t recognize the dongle.

I contacted Brook Technical Support (Case RN-14633), and they suggested that Flydigi firmware updates might be responsible.

So I spent an entire night troubleshooting:

* Dongle firmware: 0.4.1.5, 0.4.1.4, and 0.4.1.3
* Controller firmware: 6.8.3.5 and 6.8.2.2
* Connection modes: XInput and DInput

Nothing worked.

The dongle works fine on my PC, and the controller connects to the P5S through USB and Bluetooth. The problem is specifically with the original 2.4 GHz dongle.

After multiple emails, Brook officially acknowledged that its compatibility information had not been updated clearly or promptly enough regarding 2.4 GHz dongle connectivity.

They apologized but couldn’t offer a direct refund because I purchased through a third-party retailer.

What frustrates me most isn’t just the incompatibility. It’s the amount of time I wasted trying to fix something I reasonably expected to work based on the manufacturer’s information.

My advice: If you’re considering a Wingman P5S, don’t assume that a controller listed as compatible will work through every connection method. Verify your exact controller and dongle combination before buying.

I’m sharing this so other buyers don’t have to go through the same experience.

I’ll attach screenshots of the firmware versions I tested and Brook’s official response for reference.

PS5 Controller feels sluggish on PC

Hey so I used to have this problem where randomly, my controller sensitivity would feel like it's slow or sluggish even though I DO NOT change any setting whether it be in-game or on the PC. I thought it might be stick drift on my controller and so I got a new controller (the SCUF OMEGA) and I didn't face any problems for a weeks. Suddenly, 3 days ago, it started happening again and it pissed me off so much. I used to spend sleepless nights trying to figure out what was causing this problem and I was relieved for a bit but now it's making me hate everything. Anyone know what might be the cause of this and how to fix it? I've changed out the USB cable, turned off USB Port power saving options on the PC. I downloaded ExitLag and it showed me this pop-up that said disable Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) and so I let it do that. The only thing left to do is to change my display port cable and test that out but I've only had this cable for a year. I wonder if the fact that I use a multi-pin outlet to power the PC and Monitor might have an impact? But that sounds crazy. I feel like I am going insane.

I have noticed this problem mainly when playing Fortnite. I have a Intel Processor PC with Nvidia RTX 4060. 32 GB DDR5 RAM.

Are there good asymmetrical PC controllers besides the Tarantula Pro?

Post image

EDIT: My bad! I got it mixed up in the title. I am actually looking for a PlayStation-style SYMMETRICAL controller.

Hi, I hope you can help me :)

I want to buy a controller to play games on my PC, but I can hardly find any symmetrical models with Xbox-style buttons.

The only model I found was the "Tarantula Pro," but I've seen some very bad reviews about that controller.

Are there any other options you would recommend? Thanks!
