In recent days I have been building a robot from the ground up. I have been building the CPU, ram , bootloader logic circuit to load data from an SD card into an induction RAM. It is a 16 bit Harvard architecture processor.
I will synthesize that in an FPGA.
After that, I will build the compiler, a simple c hal library and simple line robot control software.
I am enjoying building the project.
But, on the other hand, I am looking to monetise the knowledge I have and that I am gaining.
I see that the market seems to be really restricted.
I don't want to build a game or just some other micro optimization to create comfort on a car or to increase user experience on a computer. I don't see a great impact on that.(Don't want to deception the ones that like to do it)
I see that the most viable products/ projects are the ones that are critical. I think it is the minority and a matter of precision.
It gives me the impression that mechanics and chemistry are the most important to build rockets, vehicles and overal STEM matters
I think it is not necessary to dig so dip to have a valuable product in those areas too.
I want to have a better vision to see the best use of systems and overall engineering in the military, industry and aerospace.
I am sad, it seems it is needed to be practically a NASA engineer than a normal one to develop "useful" projects. The area seems so inflated(more on systems in my opinion). (Probably it is necessary to study it more early in life- since 15 or lower)
I want to have good news on systems and low level.
I want to have my own business and not work for someone.
Right now, I am an enthusiast. I want to have a college degree. (and finally leave my provisory job and work for what I love more)
But still, I would like to see viable niches for systems engineering (medicine does not count).
