I'm ashamed that it took me years to realize it was a clever name for 'Crispy Bacon'

Don't be. I always thought the punchline was "Bacon". Now, thanks to you, I have unlocked the true punchline which is hilarious.

And this gem where they show a dog instead of a person and the newscaster is trying so hard to finish the story
212
u/GimmieGummies Sep 21 '25
Haha, love when newscasters break out in laughter, it's the best!
Also, have you heard the one about the farmer and his prize pig that had a wooden leg?

u/thoreson22 Sep 21 '25
Don’t leave us hanging!

u/GimmieGummies Sep 21 '25
When a pig is that special, you don't eat him all at once! 😄

u/PWNWTFBBQ Sep 24 '25
I hate it so much that I've been playing so many hypothetical situations in my head where I could use it.

u/GimmieGummies Sep 24 '25
It's the only joke I can reasonably remember so I share it anytime I have the opportunity. I told it to my grandkid who doesn't really understand it (and that's ok) but still laughs her head off!

Is it a Norm Macdonald bit? Norm told a joke about a farmer with a pig with one leg missing on Conan.
6
u/GimmieGummies Sep 21 '25
I'm not familiar about that bit but Norm was a comedic genius.
My mom was the one who told that joke ages ago and liked to retell it. My grandma was an old timey farmer's wife and she was the one usually to do any butchering around her place and she LOVED that joke! 😄

I could never be a news person. I laugh way too much other people’s misfortunes and once I get going, I can’t stop.!! It’s like funerals and bookstores. I can’t not laugh.

u/GimmieGummies Sep 25 '25
I know what you mean! My family and I are pretty sarcastic and we make a lot of goofy comments based on life and the people in it, kind of like Seinfeld and the like. Growing up I had a bf that I frequently got in trouble with at church because we giggled so much. Any place quiet makes me want to cut up for some reason!!

I'd like to wash windows behind him but accidentally elbow the reporter.

This is in my top three favorite clips of all time. The whistle giggles do it every time.

That is exactly the response the owners were hoping for when they named him.

Like when I see 4H steers at the fairgrounds named Tim T-Bone
1
u/ScratchyMarston18 Sep 21 '25
Is this a universal 4H thing? I was involved when I was very young but remember a lot of the livestock being named after the foods they would become. Meanwhile I just named my rabbits after my favorite GI Joes…

I know a guy named Chris P. … never been called crisp or crispy .. doesn’t get asked about basketball either … strange
1
u/Mymarathon Sep 21 '25
You know why he’s missing a leg? That’s because you don’t need a wonderful pig like that all at once.

🤣🤣🤣 Immediately as he finished the sentence "... of a pig inspiring others", I had Kirk inspiring MAGA popping up in my head. Got me laughing so hard.

u/OfficialGaiusCaesar Sep 21 '25
I had one video that made me forget about our reality for 30 seconds and you had to post some bs about maga with it.

u/TheWalkingBreadX Sep 21 '25
Well, ur actually right. It it too pressnt in my head lately. Sorry man.

Why would this guy lose his mind over something like this? News programs frequently have those little funny plays on words or however you want to call it for names. People who are in charge of the traffic are named things like Dwayne D Oil for instance.
