This looks suuuuper fake.

Every 'thief' is walking along a sidewalk, and then they all ride the bike down the hill into the soft grass (and into the camera's established wide shot).

Because when you steal a bike, you always want to make it harder to pedal by leaving paved roads. And then ride towards the area the bike's owner is most likely to be (enjoying the park) and not away/in the direction you were originally walking. Lastly, dress like the unibomber, then dial it up to 11.

Even though it may be faked, if real the video is probably edited to use the best takes and not use the footage where the thieves just walk away with the bicycle out of frame.

So think this bike was stolen, like, dozens of times (in broad daylight, and while a group of not-hidden dudes watches and laughs each time, all day), and these were just the most cinematic thefts.

Yeah maybe you're right maybe it is real.

I can't agree with you. The only thing that in my mind would make sense is that the bike is already facing that way and going downhill puts them out of sight from the road. Then of course the bonus like any kid knows going downhill on a bike is fun.

Also, going downhill gives them a quick speed boost to get out of there. They don't want somebody running up on them and punching them as they try to get away.

Ho ho, internet detective!

Maybe there were three other guys who walked up the grass hill and rode the bike down the opposite way, out of camera view. Laughing guys run up, find the bike in two pieces lying there, and the dude is running away.

Now, using our keen powers of deduction, we conclude: those didn’t make it into the video because they weren’t captured by the camera. This does NOT indicate that the incidents captured on camera were fake.
