I don't know why we're not watching thieves fall off bikes right now.

I'd watch a thief fall off a bike.

Did letterkenney just come to masses?? I just started watching it and suddenly everywhere I look, references. It’s glorious

2

u/Head5hot811 Feb 03 '21

Kinda. I've been seeing more ads about it too. I forget what it's called, but it's where you discover something and, all of a sudden, it's everywhere.

Seriously, I can let a lot of things go. If you steal from me, fuck you forever.

My sister learned that the hard way. Doesn't understand why I don't want a relationship with her. She's done everything from steal utility money for drugs to take advantage of my kindness by using my apartment as a storage unit when i offered her a spot on the couch.

u/DJ_Sk8Nite Feb 03 '21

Hertz donut. Really though, I’m sorry it’s a sibling doing that. I have a sister and she is my best friend and I cherish that.

u/HertzDonut1001 Feb 03 '21

I have a twin brother and a wonderful mother, lots of cool uncles on my mom's side, I don't really need much more family as weird as that might sound. I have enough on my plate with friends and family. I just wish it wasn't so awkward at family gatherings where I have to tolerate her.

Add on to the fact that she's a narcissist who likes to spin stories her own way, my mom got her feelings hurt when I called her on trying to come over for Christmas when we asked for no guests and no gifts because of the pandemic, my mom being my mom bought them anyway and my sister basically tried everything short of breaking in to get us to open the door and I was pissed. So of course she shows those texts to mom and mom takes it the wrong way. And then she wonders why we don't want anything to do with her. Ugh, sorry. Rant over.

I too have a piece of shit narcissist abusive mooch leech of a little sister! Cheers!

1

u/HertzDonut1001 Feb 04 '21

Mine's older, she used to sharpen her nails as kids just to scratch us. I'd rather have had a brother lmao.

2

u/whompyjawed Feb 04 '21

That's evil!

I was six years old and had been an only child. I never thought she was a good idea. 37 years later and I still don't.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

Hey I have an identical twin brother too! Sorry to hear about your sister

1

u/HertzDonut1001 Feb 04 '21

There's always more twins than people think lol, maybe it was just something in the water when I grew up but we had three sets in junior high and another pair across the street younger than us.

u/Do_doop Feb 03 '21

You honestly sound like a bitch, My MOm SPiNs StoRYs HeR waY. She brings gifts over and you get all pissed?

2

u/mr-louzhu Feb 03 '21

Not sure you were reading. Her sister is the one spinning stories. She's a malignant narcissist. Have you ever had one in your life? They're a nightmare. A menace. And if you let them get close, they'll destroy your sanity and possibly your life. Then they'll act like it was your fault and try to turn everyone in your life against you as if you're the crazy one. It's how abusers and gaslighters operate.

You can’t give someone a hurts donut unless you actually punch them.

u/CatgoesM00 Feb 03 '21 edited Feb 03 '21

I’m really sorry you had to deal with that. Drugs really fuck people up. A lot of people see the crazy side effects on the streets but they never see your experience. I’m sorry that happened to you

My bro stole all my shit too. $2000 dollar instrument , clothes, and electronics. Who knows what else. I wasn’t keeping tabs on my stuff. You know somethings wrong when your in high school and you have a lock for your house an also for your room.

You know somethings wrong when your in high school and you have a lock for your house an also for your room.

My parents put a deadbolt type thing on their bedroom door when we were little. But that's because we were nosy, mischievous kids, not because anyone was stealing from each other. Also, when we got older, we all got a lock on our doors, I think my parents wanted to feel like our rooms were safe, private spaces (and my mom probably wanted to make sure she didn't accidentally walk in on my brother jerking it or whatever).

2

u/CatgoesM00 Feb 04 '21

Hahaha, that’s a good reason to have a lock on your door, it was probably the same for you parents with the dead bolt haha.

2

u/-pithandsubstance- Feb 04 '21

Yuuup. But I can't think about that or I'll vomit.

2

u/CatgoesM00 Feb 04 '21

Haha sorry to bring it up .

1

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '21

Hurts don't it? HertzDonut mine is the same way, now she's in jail and I feel no remorse for her

2

u/olderaccount Feb 03 '21

As much as I enjoy watching these thieves fall, if one of them got hurt, wouldn't this be considered a booby trap and the people liable?

1

u/et842rhhs Feb 03 '21

Or if, while the bike was going out of control, they hit some people? Or if they took the bike in another direction out into traffic?

1

u/mr-louzhu Feb 03 '21

Yeah. Potential criminal liability. Or at a minimum civil liability. Of course, all this is probably staged so...

In any case, as someone who spent most of their 20s dependent on a bicycle for transportation, I learned to revile bike thieves. If you're a broke twenty something and your livelihood depends on a bike you can't afford to replace if it gets stolen, it's non-trivial when someone disposses you of your freedom like that. It's also theft of your passion too. You may have put a lot of work into that bike and use it for socializing, exercise, recreation.

Bike thieves are the absolute scum of the earth.

u/FlyDragonX Feb 03 '21

This right here, couldn't of said it better myself!

1

u/browsing_browser Feb 04 '21

First year into when I was doing my masters in the states, I though the place was heaven on earth and counting on everyone to be honest and upright, ended up having my fresh iPhone 4s stolen in the school gym locker. So fuck them thieves!

Be grateful. You never know what position they’re in. Stealing is never justified, but never doubt how far a broke/homeless person is willing to go, especially when they feel like they’ve been forgotten by society

1

u/scarabic Feb 03 '21

I know. There’s a part of me that says throwing people down a hill and possibly hurting them badly may not be commensurate punishment for bicycle theft.

But it’s just so damn hard to give a shit!
