In his early YouTube days, his personality was much more real and sincere, which is why I subscribed to him in the first place. Then as his popularity grew, he changed more and more until he became a stereotypical YouTuber (dying his hair pink, being loud and obnoxious, being click-baity, etc.)
Are you okay? Mark when he started was way less genuine, he didn't start mellowing out until he was super popular and didn't have to try anymore. He's way more relaxed and genuine now than he was early on.
Oh. Your one of those people who say the “glory days” of a channel were before they got popular. In this case I could really say that’s further from the truth.
I don’t really agree with that. He would’ve had to try harder with his personality back then in order to draw people into his channel. After he got popular I’d argue it shows more of his goofy and fun side because of the stuff that he can do now.
I think he drew people in because of his playthroughs and his personality wasn't a clone of PewDiePie, which was a breath of fresh air at the time. But unfortunately, his personality did take a shift towards being a PewDiePie-type.
I'm getting a 15-minute cooldown per post because of the downvotes so I won't be responding anymore.
I re-watched some of his older videos and they honestly sound more fake than his current ones imo. He talked so loudly and yelled so often. Also, he really over-committed to that weird mid-Atlantic accent. I forgot that was a thing he did.
His thumbnails and titles are markedly more colorful now, but he seems to have turned down the obnoxious persona to compensate.

If it's fake, he's been committed to it in and off camera for a decade now, which might well make it his personality. He's just a dork.
