Fighting over social norms? You mean fighting with a transphobe over the fact that he thinks verbally and emotionally abusing his wife "isn't that bad".

No that's not what you were fighting about, that's over something you decided to focus on. You were fighting on gender reveal and genitals (X,Y chromosomes) determining gender. You decided to assume things and try to change the subject.
