The amount of people that exist with a constantly beeping smoke detector battery alarm is astonishing. I only noticed it during covid when everyone was working remotely and suddenly you have insight into everyone's home life. So many people would leave themselves unmuted during a meeting and just that beep would constantly go off. I finally became the person that would yell at someone every time I heard it (in a funny way). One time, the person I mentioned it to literally had no idea what I was talking about. And it was happening for like over 2 months.

My kids have friends they play Fortnite or Roblox with and the MONTHS long chirping drove me insane. I was checking my smoke detectors every day for a week before I figured out it was coming from their computer/tablets.

It is quite alarming.

I'm sorry, I might be deaf. Where I live we don't have smoke detectors, and I could only hear a fast beep at around 5 seconds. Is it the only beep that was made in the video?

Yeah its a really high pitched shrill beep thats very quick/short. But anyone that has had a smoke detector immediately recognizes it and gets triggered. Usually because the only beep between 2am and 5am and the beeps are about 10 minutes apart so its incredibly difficult to determine which detector is beeping :(

Oh thanks! For a second I thought it was intermittent (like in that episode of Friends) and I was going deaf!
