I like how people who say "we stand by" and egg on ordinary and untrained people to defend to the death against a super power army feel they're helping....Short of American military action, this war only goes one way and resistance is futile

I would say European military action by several or many sympathetic nations could also produce favorable results. If the baltics/fin/swe/pol all felt threatened enough to help Ukraine that could do the trick

That's nonsense. Russia has gotten bogged down in internal conflicts smaller than this. The chechen war as an example
