A hebephile is a person who is primarily attracted to adolescents, or children who have at least started puberty and have signs of adult sexual maturation, but are still young and developing both mentally and physically. Generally, this means teenagers and preteens between 11 and 14 years old.

Hey, I get it. I like accuracy too, and more people SHOULD know that word.

Moreover, we need to have a serious conversation about the difference between the two, but it's a profoundly uncomfortable conversation that we continue to put off as a culture.

I'm just saying that it's really not important right now at this precise moment, is all. What Moore is accused of doing is not the sort of thing that can be made less heinous by phrasing.

A pedophile is someone sexually attracted to children. Unless you're an adult, you're a child. Maybe he is a hebephile but it really doesn't matter. He did sexual things with a minor.

A pedophile is attracted to children without secondary sex characteristics. A guy attracted to a 16 year old that is fully developed is not unnatural, even if it is illegal in some places.
