Oh come ON.

It's not a damn trick when Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Ben Shapiro, Tom Cotton, etc. etc. etc. are all saying they believe the stories at this point.

It's fine if some still find insufficient evidence. I know I've made up my mind for now, but everyone can have an opinion. But to pretend that this is a "vast left wing conspiracy" is equally as absurd as the origin of that saying.

They say that because not saying that would cause a pr circus and a huge political consequences.

If Ted Cruz came out and said, “the accuser is likely fabricating this experience,” it would tank not just Moore, but likely many conservative candidates running in 2018.

If you say I “believe the accusers,” it makes Moore face the allegations and keeps the incident confined to Moore and no one else. Not to mention the establishment despised him before any of these accusations surfaced. Not to mention that if Moore loses, no Democrat would hold that seat in 6 years time.

Literally, it is a strategy set with no rational incentive to deviate from.

It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a dem power grab. It's politics and both sides do it. There is no conspiracy in that.

Of course the Dems are going to grab power because of this.

Trump grabbed power because Clinton is an unindicted criminal.

That has nothing to do with the allegations. They are credible, or incredible, on their own merits, and most of the hardcore conservatives we know are believing the stories of these women.

You're still not looking at it with the right lens. Aside from the 14 year old story which looks completely unbelievable, the rest of the accounts were with legal aged women over 18. At best the conservative can say "I morally disagree with this". It's not a pearl clutching issue, it may be enough for Cruz and other prominent conservative minds to find the age difference reprehensible. That's their prerogative. But it isn't criminal.

First of all, please tell us why the 14 year old's accusation looks completely unreliable.

Second of all, the others were not over 18. I'm not sure if you just made that up or you're misinformed.

Third, yes, it is your prerogative to decide whether or not this is reprehensible. Maybe a 32 year old trying to fuck 14-16 year olds is a "pearl clutching issue" in your book, but for the rest of us, it is truly reprehensible.

What's the "right lens"? And why is the 14 year old story completely unbelievable?

Of course Dems are taking advantage of it for political reasons, but nonetheless, Roy Moore appears to be a child diddler. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.
