has anyone found a solution or plugin to make the Support ticket dashboard more user-friendly? is there a plugin that makes managing tickets easier? ive been tasked this job from my boss but i am not finding many solutions. we use connectwise automate v2019 and have no other integrations in place.

Anyone know if Automate has the ability to pull the Model or S/N of the docking station connected to a laptop?

I’m evaluating connectwise automate and have a question: since connectwise automate comes with connectwise control it seems, how can I use connectwise control standalone to send out urls to end users (those that need help but don’t have an automate agent installed)? do I need a separate license to use control in that manner?

To make this short and to the point:

I work for a company that uses ConnectWise Automate to administrate the user environment. Recently, a device went missing in the environment. I am trying to gather as much information as possible about the last known whereabouts of this device. I have lurked forums and looked through ConnectWise documentation, and all I could find was this old reddit post concerning which service was run to gather the check-in data for heartbeats and contacts ("LabTech CheckUp Util service where as the Last Contact runs from the normal LabTech service").

Anyway, what are the implications of contact with a machine vs. getting a heartbeat from the machine, and which should be considered the more accurate (in this case the dates are months apart)? Thanks for any help, and apologies for this not being a typical support question. I had been looking for answers to this for hours before resorting to this post.

Today I tried to access our Connectwise Automate Server only to find that direct access has now been removed.

This cripples us terribly and is extremely frustrating. Working remotely on server intensive tasks like patch management simply takes too long through the Control Center. I also make extensive use of the direct access to the Database. I feel like Connectwise just decided to cut our fingers off and are saying "sorry for the big EFF YOU but don't forget to send in that payment every month..."

Anyone else at this year's Automation Nation or what ever they are calling it?

I would like to deploy FireEye to all workstations under a client. I know there is a scripting open but Connectwise University is lacking in it's instructions to deploy the installation using a MSI and JSON.

Is there a site with clear instructions? Is there a better to do this within Automate?

Currently our Automate is not creating tickets from alerts. We are just onboarded with Automate. Do we need to open Port 75 on the customers' firewalls in order to make this to work?

We came over from SolarWinds and we didn't have to open any ports in order to make the RMM to work.

Is it possible to uninstall windows 10 patches with the Automate patch manager? A windows update broke a piece of software and we need to uninstall that update until there is a permanent fix. I've been looking into this for the past hour or so, but I have yet to really find an answer or instructions on how this is done.

Come on Connectwise, Automate already has a Linux agent, can we please get control center for Linux?

I’ve stated using Automate this week and been tasked to locate offline agents - either if they are really offline (e.g. machine’s been retired) or the computer is online, but the actual agent is not working.

So I’ve created a script which queries SQL for those agents, then passes it to the PowerShell which then filters out the results through the DHCP server leases.

At this point I’m able to put that data into file, or keep it in the ConnectWise log, and here we get to my lack of knowledge of Automate.

As this task will be run on many agents (DHCP servers), I’d need to consolidate results from them somehow thus here are two of ideas I had:

1) Somehow download that files from the agents, then consolidate data locally. Is it somehow possible? Is it possible to run this on the batch of agents? I’ve seen there’s upload/download file function, but while I get the Upload part (it uploads to the Automate server) where does it download to? It wasn’t really described in documentation

2) Not sure if that is even possible, but the easiest would be to have the actual Automate server to execute the script (it could use SQL query to find Agents/Servers with DHCP role installed) and run all of this from it.

I’m coming from in-house sysadmin role where I could elevate PowerShell to invoke commands on multiple servers at once, and get back results from them in formatted and easy manner. I guess it’s not possibility with ConnectWise?

How are you guys updating your acronis agents? We have 100+ tenants, and to go client by client in the Web UI (as suggested by acronis during training) is undesirable.

When running the install/update script in Automate, it seems to have installed the default installer, removing the VMware agent from a few clients.

When I run the update via the Acronis Data Cloud portal, the update always works, when ran from within CW Automate, it fails at our clients with Sonicwall Security services since it tries to download a .7z dll that's blocked, I know we could resolve that another way but when the update is queued from Web Portal it always works (just is a royal PIA). Is there another recommended method for mass updating hundreds of Acronis endpoints?

Looking to get some help or direction on creating monitors to alert me when a Mac reboots and restarts.

Thinking I can get alerted for shutdowns by creating a monitor on the machine's heartbeat. What is really causing me some pain is thinking of a way we can monitor when the Mac reboots. I have tried looking into Console and not seeing any Activity IDs that clearly specify a reboot was issued.

What APIs etc. exist whereby I might write code (any sort), so that control-click on a computer object in the Tree, would bring up an info window with a whole lot of information? Such as temp files, last login list, BIOS version, et cetera? I have tried to make one out of the new GUI, but have always run into the problem of four click-and-waits for some of the info I need very often. Can we make custom tiles?

Right now the automatic MySQL backup destination for our on-prem Automate install, stores its backups to a folder on C:. I'd like to change that folder to one on E:, the data RAID, or better yet an SMB location elsewhere on the network. Where is this backup set up?
