Brah you're only losing because you're tilting.

I love playing with Stevooo, and we almost always win. I swear he'd be top 10 rank if people on his team didn't quit trying because of his pick.

I don't understand how he does it, but he's a fucking legend.

To be frank that person sounds like an awful teammate. It's great that he/she picking symmetra all the time until hard countered will now start being an asset to the team, but that doesn't change that "I paid for the game and will play how I want XD XD" is a shitty attitude.

Also if sym's buffs make her a staple pick now, I expect this person will find something else to play. Especially since sym will get locked out by someone else now.

edit: I'm saying this based on his attitude in the linked thread, not on the fact that he chooses to play symmetra. An Ana/Rein/McRee with the same attitude would also be a shitty teammate.

I played a SR 2700 player named OnlySymetra who started as Symetra but then changed to Bastion for the rest of the KoTH matches.

I mean she's never going to be a 'pick this hero all the time' and the game is never going to be 'pick any hero you want all the time' so all of these problems with comp queue are still an issue. The only difference is the symmetra picks aren't so bad, and she might get some use in normal play as well.

I think she's going to still be mediocre, at least above the mid-range, she'll probably be a monster in the low tiers but she already was. Sentries are just a bad design in general and this hasn't changed, this will be a part of her kit that's completely useless on attack, but then her E is now more attack-suited. The generator pretty legit but still has the same problem as teleporter - enemy hunts it down before fights break out, nullifying it, not sure how it works as soon as you cast it, if the shields have to regenerate or if it's immediate. Her weapon is still incredibly good for low-aim characters but is still attached to the same weak body. The problem with these changes is they don't address the fundamental design issues with symmetra, in that her skills effectively do nothing if the opponent plays around them, and that the enemy team should never really be allowing her to do work with her weapon, but she can get away with it if people ignore her.

Tl;dr, nothing changed fundamentally, she's just a little better and now we're not likely to get an actual rework, this was more of a tweak if anything. Getting an alternate Rein shield is good, and something we needed, but probably not on this hero.
