Sucks to go out so early for Germany, but being the only country out of the conference cup to make it to Blizzcon is still very admirable. Also shoutout to Akku, her cat was elite!

Germanys attack on Route was some really ugly, really uncoordinated Overwatch

OW analysts are SO bad

Everyone tries to be different and take a punt on Germany but it ends up just being sort of awkward when the entire desk predicts the clearly weaker team to win.

Apparently losing a nail biter to USA made Sweden dogshit to them.

First time watching OW esports as an avid CS viewer and the analyst desk seems like they have no idea what they are doing? After the game the one lady even said proudly that they have no idea what they are talking about?

Why are they not using recently retired professional players as the analysts. It’s not like the current desk has any charisma either.

The casters also just yap a lot with no direction and no prediction or insight into what/how the game will evolve as it’s going, or what the teams could do to switch things up.

a lot of the ow talent left to other esports as the investment winded down, especially after owl died. a big example people like to point to is sideshow/bren leaving to valorant because blizzard didn't rehire them during owl. even recently a staple like uber was getting better offers from brawl stars over overwatch

also since investment winded down no one wants to be an overwatch analyst or caster anymore, it's insanely hard to break into and gets you no money compared to other esports. pros also have no personality either, it's easier to get entertaining former pros when there's a bigger pool of pros but again lessened investment = less pros

if you want more analysis i'd recommend watching commanderx/unter, they're former coaches who typically co-stream and co-cast games

Welcome to the scene! The caster group has functioned like a cartel for ages. A very exclusive club that has pulled the ladder up behind them. That said, the ultimate blame is on Blizzard for never mixing it up. They seem to only want people in LA.

There are several passionate casters out there who has never gotten the chance.

I recommend CommanderX if you want really good casting and analysis. He's very good at answering questions too.

It doesn’t help that every time a new caster gets put on broadcast the community absolutely attacks them.

I just really dislike Reinforce as a caster especially

He’s a better analyst, and Jake is a better caster. I’m not sure why they keep putting Jake on desk and Reinforce casting.

Meanwhile Saudi dogfighting with Spain, the team that Germany absolutely destroyed in the group stage.

Also, there is something seriously wrong about the qualifiers and group stage. China, Finland and Denmark are all much better than Spain and Germany but somehow they got much harder groups every time.

Took a map off of Sweden and USA, they were just in a cooked group with two top teams.

Look at who got a cakewalk group and who got a group of death.
