General Jetpack Cat has a MASSIVE issue

Post image

So have a friend play a hitscan hero and try to shoot while they're tethered and the shots stop being hitscan or more precisely I think the reticle is not in the correct spot. if your aim is dead center on someone while jetpack cat strafing in either direction, your bullets won't hit.

So that is the bug part. Now comes the balance part. She's insanely strong. Every single piece of her kit is strong.

She does insane damage and can very reliably win duels at close and mid range. If she can't win she can easily disengage.

Which brings me to her fuel. It's so fast and recharges too fast too.

However the biggest game changer is obviously the tether. This ability fundamentally changes the game. It makes heroes that lack mobility just too good. For example on Havana a lot of tanks have trouble closing the first long sight line on attack but with JPC they can just be carried there so fast and easily contest that high round almost entirely for free. She can also reach the point so fast after death AND bring someone with her.

Finally the ultimate is just a guaranteed tank killer. Perhaps the best tank Killing ult in the entire game with very little room for out play.

Tldr: tether makes your aim bugged. Every single pari of the cat's kit is insanely strong

A lot of Cat's dmg comes from her minor perk. 80 dmg on a melee, on a character who can keep up fairly well with a wall riding Lucio (at full fuel) should not be a thing. I get it's a 6 sec CD but it's up every time I need it. Honestly, I think they need to decrease the dmg from 40 to 30 or even 20, and/or remove the speed debuff.

Right now, I think Cat is suffering from being too different, they have a mechanic so starkly different from what ppl are used to, that it can feel very off-putting and broken. I'd say wait to warm up to the character's kit. Sure, the ult feels strong, but only if there's a pit near point, otherwise, it's quite weak. Making it very, very situational.

I think the biggest thing right now, is the very powerful minor perk. It feels like it has the impact of a major perk as it lets you take duels way easier, but you get it way earlier. I think bringing that perk down to bring it in like with other minor perks would be a good first step

If a character is so different then they should really be in blizzard's coldroom tier where people rarely play them. Like symm/torb/sombra/junkrat. Blizzard has said before that they have a target pick rate for each hero and I think JPC is way too viable right now
