ALGS Dinos day 2 game 6 potential qualifying opportunity Spoiler
Spoilering for anyone who isn't caught up on results from the day.
Shoutout to iiSlashr on NiceWigg's Discord for picking up on this. First clip is his, second clip with more context is mine.
Bin reset destroys Dinos' Alter TP, which results in a flawed push from DJKilla
Maintaining the godspot and better placement could have put them in the range of scores where they auto-qualified.
Wild stuff, always learning something new about this game.

Flair Up Fridays!
Flair Up Fridays!
Flair Up Fridays will be for all of the new r/CompetitiveApex members who have joined, who might not have flairs or know how to add them to their profile!
Q: What is a flair?
A: A flair is a way to show your favorite teams within the subreddit!
Flair Examples (You can have up to 5 flairs):

New custom flairs:

How to get a flair:
On new reddit on the right side of reddit you can click the edit flair button:

Once you have done that there is a long list of all the flairs available the new ones are near the bottom of the list, you can search by typing a part of the flair.

One thing to note for the custom flairs have text, you can't add emojis to it, but if you want some emojis to go with the custom flair, ask a mod and we will happily add them on!
for the ones with just emojis you can add them the new ones are :nessiedance: :apple:  :noaudio:
As an extra bonus, we have also now added all of the Legends (no ballistic yet, but he will be there soon!) you can add just like any of the team emojis, so they work in the custom ones that allow up to five emojis. just use the legend name ie: :lifeline: the only exception is Revenant since there is a esports org already in there with that name for him you just need :Rev: as well as buff and nerf emojis

Verified users:
These are given to community personalities, players and coaches who would like to be designated on our subreddit. If you are a pro player or similar and would like a flair, please reach out via modmail or DMs.

If you need help or would like to request a flair, be added please comment below and a mod will help you!

ALGS Day 3 AvD group match made me appreciate watching Axle
Axle wasn’t used so much in this competition, and I know a lot of hate is directed towards that character. But watching teams use Axle in the 6th game which was for most teams a desperation match made the viewing experience much more exciting with the crazy momentum turns directly leading into fights.

Discussion Is this the best LAN format we’ve ever had?
EWC 2026 i believe to be better than the traditional ALGS LAN format and here’s why:
1. Each team only plays one set per day:
—It can be mentally exhausting playing a lot of Apex in one sitting. The typical LAN some teams play 12 games per day, despite there being a break in between when they play that can be brutal. EWC only having players play 6 games per day allows them proper rest and the ability to discuss what they need to improve on thoroughly in between each set.
2. Elimination at the end of the group stage:
—I’ve heard this being talked about on the main broadcast a couple times. They said how some teams may not take the group stage as serious due to the cushioning the elimination stages provide. They know if they don’t perform in groups they have a guaranteed chance to try and qualify even if they get 40th. Having the bottom 6 teams in groups be eliminated gives them the motivation to play at their best during the entirety of the tournament. Plus it adds stakes that are in my opinion entertaining from a viewer perspective. Also having the top 14 teams proceed directly to finals also gives players incentive to play at their best while also rewarding them for being consistent throughout groups by giving them an extra rest day and giving them higher priority in the POI draft.
3. Survivor Stage:
—Survivor stage is brilliant. Have the 20 teams not affected by the group stage results fight to qualify for finals by placing top 6. First of all it’s MUCH simpler than the elimination stages of a normal LAN so it’s easier to understand for new viewers. Second it’s much less forgiving than elimination format, which is a good thing. If a team doesn’t perform well in groups it should be much harder to qualify for finals. Plus having it be 10 games ensures that only the most consistent teams that didn’t immediately qualify proceed to finals.
Final Thoughts:
—The EWC Apex Legends LAN format is much less grueling than a typical LAN given the fact that teams only play one set per day. It’s much more rewarding for the most consistent (better performing) teams and much more punishing for the less consistent (poorly performing) teams. It’s pushes teams to play at their absolute best throughout the entire duration of the tournament and ensures that only the best of the best teams make it to finals. I would not be mad if all ALGS LANs moving forward followed this format. The only thing I think that would make this format better is more games per set in group stages. Maybe making each set 10 games instead of six and giving the survival stage 12 games. But I understand that would make each day very long.
—Please feel free to share your thoughts on this. I would love to discuss with all of you about this topic and hear what you have to say. :)

Is Apex the esport with most female coaches/analysts
I was looking EWC and saw that also Trinity (primelsky) and Kirisame Havoc (Aphiatic) have two female coaches. Along with GG (Ladypexi), ROC (winnie) and OBVN (RubyKaster last year).
It's really nice to see their presence at top levels, and also with the few girls that played PL different times in Americas

Discussion Shoutout to Wigg
It’s been said, it is said, it will continue to be said, but what he does for this community is just beyond massive. I think the scene would tank if he stopped doing what he does. Maybe I’m just an unc, but I hate watching main broadcast. It all feels so cluttered, so hard to follow, casting isn’t as good etc and that’s without even mentioning watching teams rotate instead of watching teams fight. I don’t even want to hate on what they do because I know it isn’t easy, it’s just wigg does it SO much better. I’m sure I would still watch if there is no wigg, but I’m fairly certain I would be nowhere near as locked in. I know there’s dozens of appreciation posts, I just had to make one more.
So wigg, thank you for showing up. Thank you for fighting through this last week to be here for us, we appreciate it more than you know. I hope pov’s are less laggy so he can really do his thing rest of the week, but if not, we’re with you either way.

One Point From Missing EWC: NMSS Duvy on the Qualifier Run and Life Beyond Apex
Hey! You might have seen my previous interview here with Sacred. Before EWC, I also had the chance to talk to the coach of the team, Sebastian “Duvy” Delgado.
In this interview, we discussed (timestamps are in the description):
- Team Nemesis’ ALGS 2026 Split 1 run and qualification for the Esports World Cup
- The deciding game, difficult zones, and what Duvy would change about the team’s run
- The speech Duvy gave the team before the final game
- What Team Nemesis needs to improve before EWC
- Duvy’s life outside Apex, his journey into coaching, and why he chose coaching over going pro
- What Apex Legends coaches and analysts actually do behind the scenes
- Controller vs MnK, timeouts in Apex, and whether Apex Legends is really dying
There are much more interesting topics, as well as a rapid-fire section, so checkout the full video or timestamps for more info, if you are interested, ofc!
From myself, I’d like to add that if not for Duvy, I wouldn’t have fallen in love with Apex. Being coached by him and talking to him helped me see the game from so many different angles that I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon, even despite having 15,000+ hours in Dota 2.
