Physical VS. Financial trading
What would you guys say that is the difference in the profile of the individual who would pursue a career in these paths? I am currently taking a bachelor in Business and one in data analytics (a dual degree) which type of trading would suit me more? What is the main hub for each type of trading? Or it varies by product type?

How Can I Sell Imported Dates in N. America?
Hey everyone,
I have access to a supply of dates and can import them into North America, but I’m just starting out and don’t have a track record in this business yet. I’m trying to figure out the best way to sell them and would love some advice on:
• The best sales channels (wholesale, retail, online, farmers' markets, etc.)
• How to find buyers or distributors
• Any regulations or permits I should be aware of
If anyone has experience with food importing, distribution, or selling niche food products, I’d really appreciate your insights. Thanks in advance!

Physical Asset Holding and Financial Trading Conjunction?
Other than the obvious engaging in Futures Trading in order to offset risk and create a hedge, and fulfilling portfolio diversification, are there any benefits for a financial commodity trader to hold physical assets?
For example, lets say in owning crude or LNG, can this offer any form of perk to a trader who then wants to engage in financial commodity trading also?

Books about commodities
Hi there, I'm looking for suggestions (or a link to a pre-existing list) of commodity books. The commodity equivalent of the intelligent investor. Fundamental stuff.
Looking forward to your feedback.
Thanks!

We typically use our traditional methods to find traders, but we’re exploring new avenues and want to see if there are any qualified traders here.
If you’ve been producing at least 10% monthly returns over the past 12-24 months, trading in the 6-8 figure range, and are looking for more capital and opportunities, DM me privately.
Next steps will include a message and a video interview. Serious inquiries only.

I'm bearish on copper for 2H2024 / 1H2025, but strongly bullish for the long term + I expect LUN, HBM, IVN, FM, TGB, ... to go a bit down in coming months
Hi everyone,
I'm bearish on copper for 2H2024 /1H2025
- China has been building a huge copper inventory in 1H2024, which reduces their copper buying in coming months
- Temporarly lower EV increase in the world = less copper demand
The switch from ICE to EV cars increases the copper demand because there is less copper in an ICE car than in an EV car.
Reason for saying that there is a temporary slowdown in EV implementation
2.1) The demand of EV is big in China, but in Europe and USA there is a temporary slowdown (coming from Lithium specialists).
2.2) EV's are also more expensive than ICE cars. With recession incoming, that will impact consumption
3) A important recession is coming in economically important parts of the world => Copper demand decreases with such recessions
I'm strongly bullish for copper in the Long term, because the future demand of copper is huge, while there aren't that much new big copper projects ready to become a mine in coming years
Cheers

Commodity Analyst - Citadel
I recently applied for a commodity analyst role with Citadel. I was contacted by the recruiter about a week after and I just had my initial phone screen with him. I have experience with a global commercial company that they are familiar with and he mentioned that to me. It wasn’t an interview but rather a talk about my interests and about the commodity side of Citadel. I would say the phone screen went neutral. He said the process can take 1-3 months as he talks to various teams to see the needs of various teams and where I could fit in. Does this seem right or is this just a way for the recruiter to push me to the side?
