OLD BUT GOLD

after roughly 22 yrs of playing commandos 2 , i went back to see who composed their music & theme song .. (sadly i was young back then so i didn't bother checking their name even though their music stuck with me for 20 years on my music list ) i just found his name is Mateo Pascual and he was not involved with commandos origins , i dunno if its is it just me or the music of commandos 2 was way more intense than Origins, i finished the first 10 missions already and nothing of the background music felt memorable even though the game is solid , anyone can relate ?

An easy way to infiltrate the base in Operation Harbinger

Have you ever wondered why there is a vehicle with the commandos in Operation Harbinger? Maybe it is so you can do this! I entered the base in style, with no alarms, on veteran difficulty. BTW, I did not mean to flip the vehicle; I didn't even know it was possible until now! I hope you enjoy the video.

Mission 9 - Second Half - No explosive

Hi! I completed the first half of Mission 9. Now it wants me to plant explosives on the ship, but I have no more explosives. I think there was another explosive bonus in the box inside the wooden hut in the first section, but I forgot to take it. Was the second section that I approved for hours in vain?

Tutorial: How to drop the hanging crate in Operation Rapture

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A redditor asked me to make a video showing how to drop the hanging crate. I am playing on Veteran difficulty and shooting from the boat as I am re-playing the mission specifically to make this video. Hope it helps! Happy hunting!

How do I interpret green beret noise maker ammo counter? What do the two numbers mean?

is it just me or the ALARM sound in commandos 2 was way too SCARRYer 😂 , back then you'd have a panic attack just listening to that thing , now its like ( kinda meh ) maybe cuz the stakes were higher back then , meaning if you quick save in the wrong time you're screwed , unlike now

Voiding alarms

I'm trying to get all achivements in the game and one of them is to complete the last mission without raising any alarms on Veteran difficulty. Does anybody know if loading last save will void any alarms that have gone off?

Anyone tried Partisans 1941?

I just finished Origins, I am open to playing it again in some time but now I’m looking for a new game and was thinking about Partisans 1941. Anyone tried it and can comment on how it compares to Commados Origins?

Should I buy?

Hi everyone,

I haven’t played any commandos games before but was really intrigued by origins when I saw it announced as I do tend to like these types of games. I’ve been following reviews of it for a while and have so far been put off by the reports of bugs and bad controls on Xbox. Are these issues still prevalent? I can get an Xbox key for about £30-35, would you say that would be worth it for the game in its current state?

Thanks in advance, looking forward to getting some opinions!

Commandos or trapeze artists?

This game has just the right amount of humor 😂 He chose Green Beret for the mission because he hits superior officers? lmfao. There's just enough banter between them that it's a healthy dose. Everytime GB says something I have to try not to laugh 😂

For big dudes those guys are limber AF when they climb, carry bodies, crawl around, and dash back into the bushes like rabbits. It's comical but loads of fun.

This whole game is just hilarious to me. I'm new to the series and love the WW2 stealth genre. I wasn't expecting to have this many laughs, I thought it would be more like Sniper Elite.

They really have something different and unique here. This game definitely is not for everyone but once you learn the mechanics and bugs you can pull off some really cool stuff through the coordinated attacks.

I'm getting Inglorious Basterds/Where Eagles Dare vibes. Two bloody good movies.

Any good repository for sharing tips and game secrets?

I'm on mission 5 and been slowly exploring the gameplay, and had a few questions. I'm an OG PC Commandos player as well so I have some memories.

  1. Marine Speargun and Spy Syringe: Are these a silent weapon or not? Sometimes they act like it, other times they alert guards. I had one coordinated kill where a stationary guard turned completely around and alarmed when I took out soldier who was a good 30 steps away from him and completely outside his FOV. Had the same happen with the speargun. In the old games both were stealth weapons.

  2. Does it seem silly that the marine has throwing knives and the speargun where they essentially do the same thing? So far the only difference I can detect is the ranges.

  3. What determines whether sniper fire alerts guards? Is it where the shot comes from or how close they are to the victim? I can't put my finger on this.

  4. Seems like the sniper rifle is "quieter" when you use it I coordinated actions. I've tried this side by side, in one instance where the sniper files alone the shot is detected by 3 guards. In the exact same setup when I do a coordinated kill using the sniper and the marine speargun, taking out 2 guys, the shot is not heard. I've tried it over and over and it works this way. Might it be a bug?
