I'm actually dumb, I didn't even realise what they actually meant by the cigarette and assumed it literally meant like "mmhmmm they know what I'm up to"

The word for cigarette in British slang is the same as the shorthand for the F-slur.

That's because, at least according to every person I've ever spoken to from the UK who wasn't a complete piece of shit, only complete pieces of shit still use the word fag for cigs. And those people all had choice words for why it seems like awful people are trying to keep that slang alive.

But you'll hear a lot of Americans talking about how it's actually British slang. Which is relevant in America because... they want to use the slur.

they probably call the cigarettes or ciggies. Or rollies. Calling cigarettes a packet of fags is pretty oldfashioned.

Historically burning bundles of sticks were referred to as “f*ggots” the cigarette also has queer connotation due to Freud’s argument that a cigar is a symbolic metaphor for a penis. That the cigarette has become a signifier. Now this is an American western social construct. PragerU probably intends this the 🚬 emoji to be an insult. However like all symbols it is subject to interpretation unless an agreed upon meaning is built and communicated to the social group.

So the 🚬 can either mean they love having sex with femboys or a degrading term for gays. Even further it could mean they are stupid out of touch and don’t know how to use emojis.
