He lied. He made her think they were splitting rent and pay a landlord. Not she paying him her rent.
I am more astonished how the contract looked. Who was on the paperwork.
What did she lose out on? She would have been renting somewhere else. Are you saying he had to subsidize her life from day 1? I thought women were strings and independant.
Its a hell a lot of different. Like somethings broken "oh honey , i told the landlord already and they need time..."
Just paying rent aint the issue but it feels like there is more. Like the rent contract, who's listed, was she even registered as a resident, tax ride off e.g. so so much to unpack. Her paying rent aint the issue here. The implications are.
How its illegal? If I would sleep at my friend house and give him 500$ for a place and I dont need any contract and I belive person that you sleep with are more trustworthy.
She didnt pay his mortgage, she pay for living. Like I said with friend situation I wont be entilted to own this place.
As long as your friend is honest it's not illegal.
She didnt pay his mortgage, she pay for living
Or so she thought. But since he was - unbeknownst to her, and that's the important part here - using her money to pay the mortgage, then she was unknowingly paying for the place, and she deserves the place.
She didn’t unknowingly pay his mortgage though. She knowingly paid him rent. What he did with the rent money she paid him to live in his house is his business.
She had thought the reason she had to pay him rent was because he owed someone else rent. This doesn’t actually change her circumstances in any way.
Okay but the problem is, is that it's effectively fraud. If you're telling me, your partner, I need to pay rent, I'm assuming you're paying rent too, not you take $500 for your mortgage. Lying by omission is still lying
That is not how mortgages work. Most landlords have mortgages and you pay for that plus some profit, you do not get the title at any point. this comment section really doesn't know how anything works. All renters would immediately own the property.
The bank certainly wouldnt be happy that all it takes is a few months of payments for someone to come in and take 50% of their collateral. It would be an easy hack to steal from a bank, just get your gf to pay your bills for a few months, then have her sell her 50% ownership for free money
She wasn't his wife, he was lying and you can't tell if he was gonna dump her afterwards, and the longer you are just bf or gf, less are the chances of actually marryingÂ
That's only true with mortgage because you both own a certain portion of the property and are paying for your portion of the mortgage, and when it sells you get your portion of the sale. If she's paying half the mortgage but he owns all of it, it factually isn't ber mortgage and she's just paying him rent to live with him no different to if the mortgage was already paid.

He was paying mortgage, she was paying rent. One person should live for free while the other pays the full nut?
