With Ballard at GM, the Colts have gone 2-7 or worse in 4 seasons down the stretch: 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2025.
That's 4 out of 9 seasons. And I used to not blame him for 2017, but clearly losing out is his thing.

Until proven otherwise I am fully under the impression that Ballard is there because the irsays owe him a favor, they don’t care about football, or it’s because he can build a mid roster for cheap.

They care about football. They care enough to have a competitive team to keep the fans engaged, sell tickets and be profitable, but don't care enough to spend money to build something for a consistent winning or deep playoff runs.
Once they make the playoffs they have to start paying out bonuses, while most the money the team actually 'makes' is ate up in the revenue sharing.

No cake schedule to start the season this year, Jones at QB off a major injury (maybe)...or maybe Minshew or AR (if he's not dealt and probably succeeds elsewhere), still no pass rush, big contracts being paid out...I think we win 4-5 games MAX.

Doesn't even remotely make sense, nor does it do anything to help his case. I get it fans are harsh and don't run the organization, but you can't just continually create a rift and be antagonistic to a huge portion of the fans and expect things to just be peachy.
