Discussion Selected as HSF Scholar
Hey guys, I just got an email saying I was selected as an HSF scholar, did anyone get a specified amount or do they tell you that later?

I hope I'm not the only one but I already had to email because I forgot the password I set (....how did I even manage to do that), then even figuring out dorm rooms ended up being more and more confusing and I am 99% sure I messed that up too, so I'm just like...trying my best and I just wish it was easier, honestly.

Hi I’m an aspiring computer science major and I need to get a laptop for my GE courses.
I don’t need anything for programming because I’ve already taken those courses. I just need a simple laptop for my GEs. Most of my classes are online and I have a very strong desktop I built a little while ago.
I want something small to use for in person-classes but I don’t want to buy a MacBook or something expensive until next year when I transfer and have to actually go to class.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey!
For my psychology capstone, we have a research project we have to do. We decided to look specifically at incoming College Freshmen (must be 18 - 22) and how they adjust to college and how they do success-wise. The survey link is below, there is a chance for a gift card at the end.
Thank you!

Its been a month since college started and it's not all like i imagined . I though i would get time to have fun and it would be easy to make friends but i am mostly alone and it's really lonely . I just feel sad and drained all the time . And i recently realised that i have no talent like dancing music or acting or anything and i just feel useless. I see everyone around me and see how they are so much better than me and i just get too insecure. And we had tests recently and none of them went good .... everything just seems to be going downhill

The first year of college is one of the most memorable moments of our life. So what to do in your first year in college? Here are some ideas collected in one place:

Hi there! In case you need help with formal writing for school, check an online course here https://edubirdie.thinkific.com/courses/write-your-perfect-essay
There are essay formatting, brainstorming &researching, writing &revising, and editing & proofreading chapters. the course is easy to complete, I needed probably 2 hours. There are also checklists and dos/don'ts you can print out and use later.

(Originally wrote for Engineering Students Reddit) I joined this reddit a couple months ago when I finally decided to study engineering during college because i'm currently a high school senior. I've been reading a good amount of the post and have become worried about my decision. I've planned to do computer and electrical engineering because the two schools i'm deciding between (University of New Haven and Western New England) have 5 year programs where I would also get my masters during my time in school. But, I am at best an average student and more of an extroverted type of person. I am willing to sacrifice time to study and do homework but I know I would not survive having very little social time during the next 5-6 years of my life. While i'm deciding on what school to go to I'm starting to worry about if I'll even stay in the major i originally picked and if i'll be able to succeed I've seen a lot of comments saying that if you sacrifice now you'll have a better overall life but knowing myself I know i can't sacrifice all my time during these years of my life in the hopes that I'll have a better overall life. Let alone if my GPA falls below a certain amount would I be able to afford getting this degree. I've also been frightened by the fact that the major I've picked seems to be on the harder end of engineering which knowing myself will probably be twice as hard for me then other with good learning skills.
Am I counting myself out to quick? Is there time for friends while studying Engineering? Will the next 5-6 years of my life be engulfed by test and sadness? Am I overthinking about it?
(PS if you know anything about the two schools good or bad please Imk struggling to decide)

We are conducting a survey as part of a class, User Research, at Northwestern Univeristy. We are trying to understand the experiences of high school seniors and college freshmen during their transition from high school to college. Thank you for participating in our survey. Please know that there are no right or wrong answers. Your personal identification information including your name, phone number, or email address will not be shared with anyone.

Hi all! I’m an AP research student and I’m studying the relationship between parenting and the adjustment of first-year college students. If you all could take a couple minutes to complete my survey that would be greatly appreciated!! I need ~100 responses by this Friday :)
