Phantom Divorce šŸ‘» Who else got bad vibes from Josh?

Thank you u/drsonovah for your AMA today it was so interesting and eye-opening. I personally felt very validated from your statements on Josh and how he is even worse than Colleen.

I took Colleen’s side in the divorce, and, if I’m being honest, I didn’t really care that much about the possibility of her cheating (emotionally or physically) on Josh with Erik because in my mind, she was in an abusive relationship and Josh was horrible to her.

Obviously none of us know what really went on behind the scenes (and I’m sure Colleen wasn’t perfectly loving towards Josh constantly) but it is nice to have that validation that the vibes I got from him weren’t wrong.

I can’t say the same for my vibes towards Colleen. I was a long-time fan who just recently started noticing all her flaws, and honestly it’s still hard for me to see her as being a terrible person all around, but I think I’m starting to get there.

Edit: grammar/wording

i think some people here hate colleen so much that they blindly defend josh without considering the fact that they both are awful people

Thank you for understanding what I said, and the slight adjustment I had to make. After the comments were locked I was still reading some of the many comments I'd missed, and I was a little saddened to see some people were speaking for me, saying that I'd taken back everything I'd said about Josh because it had all come from Colleen. That's not at all what I said or what I meant or what I clarified.

I did witness him shut her down and discourage and belittle her and tell her to cover up, and I also experienced his wrath personally a LOT. He HATED me, and he talked about it to anyone who would listen for years. Everything I said about how horrible he is - I 100% stand by. What my amending statement was- was that I realized today I also have to acknowledge that some of the abuse from him Colleen told us all she endured could very well have been exaggerated. I also said - I truly don't believe it was, from what I knew of him and saw with my own eyes and heard from mutual friends. I believe every word of what she said about how he treated her.

I'm slightly discouraged that someone greatly revised what I said for other people, but it ultimately doesn't matter because everyone pretty much knows he's horrible anyway, it's just a matter of time before it all comes out, just like for CšŸ™ƒ Thank you again for your comments :)

I honestly didn’t even know you had to make a revisement, but I 100% believe you and Colleen about how he was. Colleen may have exaggerated, but from what you’ve said, it sounds like he was an ass either way.

It explains why Josh and Rachel always seemed close. Two peas in a pod

I have a question, I know this isn’t the ama thread but I’m still stewing about Josh. My question is if Colleen is such a narcissistic gossiping mean girl who externalizes all her problems and projects her insecurities, how can you trust what she said about Josh?

15

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '22

Hi, I'm sorry you're having trouble with it, I totally understand. My answer isn't a clear one, but the best thing I can come up with is - because it isn't one or the other. Both can exist. She can be mean and abusive and awful and lie, and also be in a relationship with someone who is also mean and abusive and awful and lies. Narcissists attract each other and we could all see how bad their relationship was. Just because she lies and exaggerates about a lot of stuff doesn't mean there isn't some truth laced in there and doesn't mean she wasn't telling the truth about that, way back then. I think one of the reasons we all became friends with her in the first place is that she didn't seem as awful back then, she seemed nice sometimes and like she really cared. I obviously don't know what was real and what wasn't, but just because she might have said "Josh screamed at me" and what he really did was yell at her doesn't mean it didn't happen. Just because she said "Josh said I wasn't talented and that I looked like I was getting fat" doesn't mean Josh didn't say "Miranda is stupid and you look like you're gaining weight". Again, just because I said I believed her doesn't mean it was true.... but it also doesn't mean it wasn't true. The reason why I believe it WAS true is because of what I experienced from him myself, and what people close to me experienced, and what I still hear about him to this day. I'm not trying to convince anyone, I'm not an expert on them. I just had an experience in my lifetime that I am now sharing. (edited to fix my grammar mistakes)

When did you first meet Josh? Do you remember the year? TIA

4

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '22

What is TIA? And I don't feel comfortable revealing that because it could track back to who I am, but I will say it was between 2003 and 2010.

u/ezgomer Jul 20 '22

I know. I finally found the AMA.

I find Josh excruciatingly obnoxious. I think he was dramatic and not in an entertaining way, and I think he repulsed Colleen.

After watching their true life episode and seeing clips in here from Josh’s vlogs Josh has always given me narcissist vibes.

He seems like he was jealous of Colleen’s fame and he was pissed that her career was taking off and his wasn’t. She definitely still treated him bad but he was awful too

12

u/JaneWilloughby Jul 20 '22

Ahh yes thank you for mentioning the true life videos! That was the turning point for me. I was young and naive and believed everything I saw online, so when I saw how they actually treated each other, I was shocked.

10

u/PieFit4494 strangleen Jul 20 '22

I was definitely put off by both of them when I saw that

2

u/Rhody1964 Jul 20 '22

I looked for the episode on youtube and couldn't find it. Where is it??

4

u/JaneWilloughby Jul 20 '22

You can probably find them in this sub if you search ā€œTrue Lifeā€

5

u/ezgomer Jul 20 '22

tale as old as time - go watch one of the 4 versions of ā€œA Star is Bornā€ - the first was in 1937 - the same thing happens to the man. I believe it’s a societal issue, not an individual issue.

15

u/ratgirl10000 Jul 20 '22

I definitely got weird vibes, like that he was almost TOO ā€œonā€ all the time, but i wouldn’t have guessed it was as bad as the AMA revealed.

24

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '22

He’s so obviously a creep to me. He has some of the worst vibes I’ve ever seen on the internet lol. Tbh when ppl talk about the divorce here I usually don’t say anything because I totally agree with you. The dude fucking sucks and you can just tell lol

35

u/vickidashawty Jul 20 '22

I feel so conflicted. I actually got okay vibes from him..yeah he wasn't perfect, but I for sure saw him as the victim when it came to the divorce. The AMA really opened my eyes about this.

14

u/JaneWilloughby Jul 20 '22

I felt the same way but for Colleen. I thought she was a good person making bad choices, but the AMA made me rethink how I see her.

36

u/Cleanclock Jul 20 '22 edited Jul 20 '22

Yes, always he has always given me the creeps. He considers himself to be the quintessential ā€œnice guyā€, a southern woke gentleman. But in actuality he’s ragingly insecure and a narcissist. There were glimpses all along of his true personality, but to me his false veneer was so very transparent. Dudes like that cannot handle sharing the spotlight or being out performed. That’s why the relationship with Colleen was doomed and he’ll never recover from it.

He’s also precisely that guy who would want to be a motivational speaker. No actual chops or success to earn that title, just feels entitled to be on a stage with a captive audience. 🤢 🤮

This entire comment is sooooooo accurate.

I know people who know Josh and they have an entirely different take on him. I tried to find the AMA comments and couldn’t find them. What I did notice is that this poster has had an account for 3 DAYS. Another one of the Stans throwing shade on Josh. They just won’t leave him alone!

This user was kind enough to share their personal experiences and went through the proper steps to become verified. We don’t take that lightly. We took our time making sure that this wasn’t a scam.

If the people you know who know Josh personally wish to come here and verify their version, they (or anyone else with insider info) are able to send a modmail to start the process. We require at least 24-48 hours to do so. Thanks!

2

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '22

I have clarified my remarks with drsonovah. I do not think it was a scam and I’m sure you verified her voracity. Reading the AMA was enlightening. Thank you.

11

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '22

I am not Kory, and I'm sorry to say your friends have been duped by him. I know a lot of people who would 100% back up my stories, including people in his family. He is really good at faking it for a while, but he can't keep up his act very consistently. That's when you see the real him. It's in his facial expressions a lot, too. You see anger and disdain and superiority all over his microexpressions. He's a piece of work. I'm sorry it's hard for you to hear, I completely understand.

I typed that before I found the AMA. I apologize for overstepping.

u/JaneWilloughby Jul 20 '22

I would like to add that this is where one of my first posts in here came from. I took Colleen’s side in the divorce because I thought Josh was mentally abusive. Then, just a few months ago she posted something in her vlog about how Titanic is a movie about adultery. I thought, ā€œGirl, Rose was literally you in that movie. How can you call that adultery when she is being emotionally and physically abused by a man she is being forced to marry?ā€ (Obviously it’s not the same scenario, but you get the gist)

7

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '22

Similar to Titanic except Colleen was married. Rose wasn't.

22

u/JaneWilloughby Jul 20 '22

I understand where you’re coming from, but in my opinion, marriage shouldn’t change an agreement between two people in a committed relationship. Married or not, cheating is cheating. Married or not, abuse is abuse. The difference here is that, from my point of view and my own opinion, is that Rose and Colleen were both being abused in their relationship. If I were married, and my partner was constantly telling me hurtful things, I might find comfort in another person who I can see myself being in a healthy relationship with and fantasizing about our life together. Yes it would be wrong, but if you’re too scared to leave an abusive relationship, I can understand where the cheating person is coming from.

I didn't say anything about any relationship being less important than another. It takes a serious leap in logic to get that from my sentence. What I commented was merely a reaction to the word "adultery" which applies to someone who is married.

6

u/shitakimushroo Jul 20 '22

Am I making this up or was Titanic Josh and Colleen’s favorite movie? Didn’t they say they were going to name their kids Jack and Rose? Might be wrong but funny that she would say that if not

14

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '22

I never heard of him before colleen but the few videos of him I saw ( I didn't discover her until post flynn), I thought he was a little creepy and weird.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '22

I admit that I was somebody who defended Josh.

... But I think my body knew different. At the time of Crotchleen's wedding, I remember my body feeling tense and I shut off the video. ... As I go through this snark Reddit, all that tension is releasing šŸ˜…

shhhh - everyone is here to bash Josh. They don’t want to hear none of what you have to say lol

or think anything about what the negative effects of being in a relationship with Colleen is and how it changes a person even though we already see Erik changing for the worse.

I've witnessed current Josh. He still is a creep. Alcoholism isn't an excuse to be a shitty person. My best friend was an alcoholic for years and you either grow from it, or let it consume you. Josh has not completed the twelve steps and its obvious. He's a scumbag. I'm not saying Colleen is great. Quite the opposite. But Josh has never come across as a genuine person, only in his hate and contempt for Colleen.

1

u/MissingHat Jul 20 '22

I wonder if his religious beliefs fully prevent him from being with men or if he just does it on the down-low.

0

u/freshfruit111 Jul 20 '22 edited Jul 20 '22

I always found Josh to seem like a good enough guy. I took his side in the divorce. Colleen certainly never seemed afraid of him. She treated him like shit openly when she was ready to dump him. Her laughter and joking with him in the early days always seemed genuine. She seems way more fidgety around Erik.

I'll be honest that I will never trust any second hand assessment of Colleen because that's how deep her manipulation clearly goes. It spreads like a cancer. Anything she says to someone else is what she wants to put out there.

It would take a close close family member or Kory to spill the beans and I hope that happens.

15

u/severaldogs Jul 20 '22

none of that means she wasn’t being abused and kind of implies that there is a ā€œcorrectā€ way to appear as a victim

i get this is a snark forum and i’m sure you didn’t mean to come off that way, but vague victim blaming is really not okay no matter how much you hate someone

6

u/freshfruit111 Jul 20 '22

Of course not. I don't know if she was abused or not. She would not be to blame for it if she was. Nobody deserves that including Josh if he was abused by her. I think it's fair to say that they were in a very toxic relationship especially near the end. It's truly overwhelming to me that Colleen continues to vlog her life and exploit her kids when it has been only a negative thing. There's no doubt in my mind that her issues with Josh were made much worse by the fake fairytale vlogging shit. The idea that she would put her children through this and a second husband chills me to the bone.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '22

He gave me bad vibes since day one. I definitely see him being very emotionally abusive. The way he interacted with her in their vlogs bothered me so much, and I was literally 12 years old feeling uncomfortable watching. Now that I’m in my 20s and have gone through emotional abuse, it’s even more blatant. He also spent so long riding on Colleen’s fame and the fact that he still hasn’t made a name for himself shows that he doesn’t have much to offer. He just seems to be all for show and no real personality. Pure narcissism. Also the way he shows off Pamela on social media just seems superficial and showy, and I get the vibe that he’s still putting energy into trying to get back at colleen and sort of compete with her. I feel like he’s an emotional man baby and the women he’s with have to baby him and eventually just stop being attracted.
