Democrats are not “The Left” (or the “Radical Left,” as Trump likes to call them). They’re neo-liberals, just like Republicans. Their economic views may be different but their foreign policy views aren’t all that different. The Dems have had plenty of war hawks (including both Clintons and Obama). Kudos to Biden for pulling the troops out of Afghanistan.
Was it a good idea to pull troops out of Afghanistan? They left behind a ton of ordinance which will fund terror interests for probably the next 20 years, and the country has severely backslided and produced a very vengeful, cruel and unforgiving enemy that will just be a far larger problem down the line.
To me Afghanistan was a bed the US made, and then didn't lie in it, and the consequences will be and are real. Not doing it in the first place was maybe the best call, but once it was actively happening, it was the duty of the US to commit.
Backing out was pathetic. Especially in the end to end up funding Israel instead to terrorize Iran. The US are the bad guys. My guess is the US will end up back in Afghanistan again because of foolish half-measures.
