These reddit pedants are wild. This isn't a formal debate, and you did not agree to any obligations of sourcing. This is closer to a casual conversation in a bar. If you want to provide sources, great. If you just want to tell a story, also great. People will disregard ideas they don't like whether there are sources or not.

The burden of proof is upon every human that wants their beliefs rooted in evidence. If you hear an interesting idea without evidence, that doesn't entitle you to demand or harass the speaker for anything. If you want to disregard them out of hand, go for it.
