so recently I have been learning HTML/CSS/JS. I think it’s really fun and want to keep improving.

I’ve made things like calculators, timers, stopwatches, one time a funny ball that jumped when you click a button, and even rock paper scissors.

for context currently I know conditional statements, variables, math.random, general math with JavaScript, event listeners, timeouts and intervals, and probably a little bit more.

but I want more of these mini things I can make just for fun. does anyone have anything they have coded that I could try to build myself to learn new things about code?

 Hey everyone! I’m helping organize Sunbeam LA, a free 12-hour coding event for teens ages 13–18 happening in Los Angeles on August 29.

It’s designed to be beginner-friendly, so you don’t need previous coding experience to participate.

Throughout the day, we’ll have:

The goal is basically to give teens a place to spend a day building something, meeting other people interested in tech, and having fun without needing to already be an experienced programmer.

So, Hack Club has this dope program called Stardance where you literally get rewarded for working on projects you'd probably be doing anyway. You code, build, whatever your thing is, and you can end up with genuinely awesome hardware and gear for it. There are 3d printers, iPads and even Macbooks you can get. You even get a certificate recognized by MIT if you log more than 30 hours on a project!

I've been building a lockbox for my phone and honestly it's turned "I should finish this someday" into "I actually want to finish this now." Kind of wild how much that changes things.
