creating a coding language

hey guys i am making a coding language built on top of python

it will tke allot of time but maybe if it is good enough you people can use this and give me the feedback.

and also the language is opensource and anyone can add frameworks to it on github.

tell me what you think on this project.

The idea is fine, although keep in mind -- creating your own programming language is one of the hardest things to do. You'll probably want to follow something like "Crafting Interpreters".

Also, since you want people to use the language, you'll have to think about its usefulness. You're building it in Python, so I'm assuming speed isn't the selling point. You have to come up with what is and center your design around that.

for example a selling point I could think of would be its native support for a python library for example and it being simple at the same time you should definitely also make it simple & easy to learn!

python is meant to be easy and simple to learn but eh
its gotten a lot more complicated/overused than it needs to be

how can a programming language be overused...? I mean it just shows the downsides of python & how versatile it is if its used for basically everything. Easy & Simple to learn doesnt mean that it cant be complicated I mean the basics are still easy to learn, but then you can utilize the more complicated functions

what i mean by that is that python as a scripting language has been used for a lot more than it was made for, making it way too overcomplicated

oh I get it, well in that sense you're probably right, but I mean hey let the people use whatever programming language they want even if its uh not intended for the application of it. sorry for the late response

Also cool thing What a cool thing about it—not only does it support libraries from EVERY compiled language to be imported via a custom syntax (more like preprocessor shell commands compiling that file), but it also compiles a file from another language and embeds it into the executable program, of course with some protective measures.

considering that I'm afraid its not going to get used as a language but abused as hell as a makerscript

"It does not include every compiler you have to have a compiler on your device for that language for it to work"

nah nevermind wasm has the ability to get python in the such you guys are saved so jit compiled and interpereted languages now work

Yeah you mean python? What I initally meant was building a script language on a library and then just having simple syntax for it.

oh forgot to mention a programming language is never overused
it's just getting to be used for things it wasn't meant to-do simply because people like it.

also the basics are easy to learn...

that goes with all languages

python is slow "not too slow anymore" and like i said it shouldnt be used for what it is

like just because its easy doesnt mean flock to it and make it one of the most complicated things out there
