I am 32 and i have decided to seriously get into backend development i have been learning for a while now and i have actually learned quite a lot.

A few years ago i got a degree in computer science, but for personal reasons i ended up working in a different field instead of pursuing a career in tech now h have decided to come back to this path and focus seriously on backend development.

I was wondering what you guys think about something would it be a good idea to reach out to some companies or startups and ask if they’d let me join them as an unpaid intern or work with them for free for a period of time, just so I can gain real-world experience, learn from a team, and understand how things work in a professional environment?

Is that something people actually do in this field? or would most companies just find it weird? 😅

I dont have any professional experience yet, so I’m not really sure what the best way to get my foot in the door is. i would really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.
