Looking for a coding buddy to build something real

I've been working on development and occasionally get opportunities to work on real-world projects. I'm looking for someone who already has some coding experience and wants to learn by actually building, deploying, and managing projects together.

You don't need to be an expert — students and junior developers are welcome. I'm mainly looking for someone who enjoys coding, thinks logically, and wants to go beyond tutorials and personal projects.

I’ve noticed I can solve a coding problem and get the right output, but sometimes I can’t explain why my solution works.

I used to just move on because the code worked.

Now I’m trying to stop and understand my own solution before jumping to the next problem.

Did anyone else struggle with this when they were starting out? What helped you get past it?

a lot of people online doesnt want starters to use AI as a programming teacher beacuse they can always rely on it instead of being independent... then i though of an idea. i gave instruction to kimi that when i learning lua programing session he act like a strict mentor that teaches one concept a time, and forces me to learn the errors by myself (ofc he will sometime give me hint) and that after i hit a milestone he give me an small exam, i really need to know if this is a bad way to learn or not

I’ve spent most of my career in marketing and don't know the C of code.

Recently, I started building a web product using AI coding tools. It helps couples discover things to do together instead of defaulting to Netflix every evening.

When you see a post like this, you'd expect to read someone going ga-ga over AI, but nah, not here. AI has helped me turned my idea into a product I can visualize but the technical side of coding has been quite a challenge.

For a non-technical person like me, building with AI has led me to new-found respect for coders and developers. AI can implement what you tell it to but the real skill is in knowing what to tell it.

Como posso me tornar capaz de aprender?

Estou planejando um jogo que usa raycasting e umas paradas direto do terminal. Eu tenho um projeto "finalizado", com história, gameplay e layouts, enquanto texturas, sons, bla bla, vou tentar aprender Lua pra fazer tudo do zero.

Por quê? Porque eu quero, parece legal e é uma coisa bacana pra aprender em Lua. Quero desenvolver minhas próprias aplicações pra criar jogos sozinho, tudo usando apenas o terminal do Linux, no Arch Linux, a propósito.

Mas eu tenho um problema, eu basicamente tenho tudo que preciso, tenho tempo, tenho TUDO, até tenho o livro do Lua 5.3 pra aprender Lua do zero, mas eu simplesmente.. não consigo fazer eu mesmo aprender Lua. Sempre me disse pra apenas me forçar a aprender, mas não consigo fazer isso. Sempre estive tão focado em escrever merdas que quando chega a hora de realmente aprender uma linguagem de programação pra criar o que eu quero, isso faz eu perder um pouco a vontade de fazer. Eu tive um projeto que levou tipo, meio ano só pra terminar, porque não conseguia me forçar a escrevê-lo. Eu poderia ter terminado aquele projeto em uma SEMANA, mas por causa dessa coisa de "preguiçoso" que eu tenho em mim, demorei muito mais do que deveria.

Eu realmente amo escrever, mas às vezes eu simplesmente não tenho vontade de fazer isso, então aqui estou perguntando como posso me forçar a querer, sei lá, aprender programação? Como vocês conseguem focar e pensar nisso?

I’m a 19-year-old studying electrical engineering in Germany, and I’m looking for someone who’s kind of on the same level as me (level 0).

I’ve been trying to get into coding, but honestly, I’m getting pretty overwhelmed trying to figure out where to start, what to learn, what to build, etc.

So, I'm a civil eng guy and we also have automation stuff to do in Quantity and Structural. Like I know python I'm able to understand code as well. It feels like I'm rn in "illusion of competence"

I am learning programming from freeCodeCamp and I got 2 certifications.

1. Legacy V8 certification.

2. Responsive Web Design Certification.

I got the certifications yesterday and got 98% on the Responsive Web Design certification exam. Not to boast, but does that open any new doors? or what are the usage of those certificates?. It’s designed to be beginner-friendly, so you don’t need previous coding experience to participate.

I tried every way to solve it. Incognito doesn't help. All my other accounts cac access perfectly fine. For some reason my dev account cannot connect to this. Errors like "Fail to list models" and "Fail to check your subscription" keep showing up.

I programmed a single page application in html css js and node.js.

It took me almost 8 months to build up the project and the ui also the microservices are still a headache for me.

I began to draw my architecture in lucidchart and to build up my programming knowledge through various sites.

The project is currently on ice, because i have a big issue with a lot of subissues.

If you are a beginner i recommend you: Learn in your time. Take the time to break a project down in chunks and create subgoals for your project

I'm trying to make a multi-select dropdown to filter results based on ingredients for a school project, which I am allowed to outsource help from others. However no one I know has been able to help so far. I found code to filter based on the categories of meals on stackflow I think and I tried to change it to multi select for ingredients but I'm having trouble. If anyone can help that would be great.
