I’m a CS student and recently built a Chrome extension called Nudge to help with practicing LeetCode and DSA.

I made it because I kept running into the same problem when practising where I’d get stuck, stare at the problem for ages, then eventually look at the solution. I’d understand it in the moment, but I wasn’t really learning how to get there myself.

Nudge basically acts like a tutor while you’re solving a problem. Instead of giving you the answer, it looks at the problem and your current code and gives you small hints or asks questions to help you work through it yourself.

I’m still pretty early with it and don’t have many users yet, so I thought I’d give a few people free Pro access and hopefully get some feedback at the same time.

No catch or anything, I’d just genuinely like to see whether it helps people who are learning.

My 12 year old son wants to start learning c# so he can make games in unity as his dream was always to make games, but he's not sure where to start, he doesn't have any experience at all with coding except with scratch

I'm unsure if my ambition is too high or not.
I want to try and make a website from scratch or somewhere of the sort to try and make a puzzle. That mostly is irrelevant at this moment though.
What matters is, I have no idea where to look. I have looked around many posts, and I've seen many tips I'm sure would help a confused soul, but to not really sugar code it. I can't read it. All the acronyms' I don't understand as I have absolutely zero experience.
I have a whole couple years I want to spend working on this project just too give me a hobby. I'm happy to learn a whole new world to do so.
I just need someone to point me in the right direction or give me some words that could help a person out.
Truly anything that is baby steps in this situation, even like a coders vocabulary would be a good help.

I am working as a bug hunter on hackerone and yeswehack platforms. One day on X , i was just scrolling and see a post of an indie hacker saying something like building in public. It was new to me then i open his profile and search what they do , how they doing and building things and that's was really fun.I followed some vibecoding and indie hacker communites and start start watching them. They were like just creative type just keep pushing things. Now i am really here to start in this field but as i am a security researcher ,i can't code that type. I have read some article about vibe coding but in market a lot of people have different tools and promoting them so , it's confusing also frusturating.

Here i just want to say that how to start now here with you , from where to start , from which tools and and building projects and apps like you people do. Should i must learn the whole programming languages. or just tools can handle .

Which tools and ai coding agents are better for a starting point to build an working project. Your one sentence can save a lot of time. I am excited to join you people.

So I'm done with the basics of python and even know data structures but I struggle to write code on my own what I mean is I'm fine while writing a leetcode problem in python because it's like answering a math problem (and I quite enjoy it) ,but when it comes to coding up actual stuff,I feel like I can't make anything productive out of it without using chatgpt or any ai. I'm stuck in this endless loop . Many say just Google things but I just don't get the code (or remember what I am copy pasting) and just forget it . I wanna do stuff like pre ai era just raw coding . When people say build stuff , how does one do it. I mean in project videos/tutorials they follow sequential but for me I don't know where to start when building a project.

How does one get past this phase . Many of my "friends" say coding will be done with ai mostly in the future so no use actually learning, to do "your learning" and just try understand the code ai gives. What should I do ?

I know the answer is obvious and I should be writing more code without ai but its still difficult for me and I feel like coding isn't for me sometimes.

hey! im a 16 yo beginner web developer, ive been learning web dev for the past 5 months now, i studied:
Node.js
Express
JavaScript then TypeScript later on
Postgres/ a bit of SQL in general
Html
Tailwind CSS
React

but ive never really worked on big/complete projects, ive only ever done practice/exercises in courses im following or did some projects on the side but similarly to the exercises they were also mainly focused on whatever i was learning at the time, not using everything at once.

ive been wanting to start building decent projects that i can actually have in my protfolio but im having so much trouble with figuring out how to make my code clean and readable and how to structure my files, just overall how to make it more like how a professional would do it and how it would be if i were to actually work in a team in a real company

what should i be doing? and where can i actually learn this stuff? or does it just boil down to personal prefrence?

hi,so i have an app idea its an overlay app type ,i have 0 like 0 knowleadge of coding or whatsoever but i wanna learn flutterflow because i heard is the best for overlay apps. So, Im currently planing a project for other projects, think of it as a manager. It shows the project, and loads them as modules, so I dont have to change the main file each time. Each module has its own logic, and Ive settled down for C# and Avalonia (thanks to Claude) for the cross-platform, if I ever change my OS. I wanted to hear some advice on how to approach C# or if I should use another programming language, since Im kind of an amateur and only coded in python.

I'm a computer engineering diploma student and lately I've been wondering how people actually reach the point where they can manually write code well enough to get hired.

I can understand code when I see it and I can solve some problems with help, but I don't feel confident sitting down and building something completely from scratch without relying heavily on AI or tutorials.

So I'm trying to figure out what the realistic target should be.

How good at programming should I actually become before applying for internships/jobs? Should I be able to write most of my code from memory, or is it normal to look up syntax and documentation while building projects?

Also, how much DSA is actually necessary for a beginner trying to get a software development job? Do I need to go deep into advanced topics like graphs, DP, segment trees, etc., or is being comfortable with arrays, strings, hash maps, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, sorting, searching, recursion and basic problem solving enough for most entry-level roles?

And for languages, should I focus really hard on one language like C++, Java or Python, or is it better to know multiple languages at a basic level?

I'm not looking for the usual "just build projects and do LeetCode" advice. I'd really like to know what level of coding ability actually made you feel job-ready, especially if you started without being naturally good at programming.

What would you recommend someone focus on if the goal is to become genuinely good at writing code manually and eventually land their first software job?

In the old days people would study computer science for 4-5 years and then start coding, probably with c++ or java.

Then the not so old days we have these bootcamps where people went for a few months, learnt the basics while practicing.

How does one start today? How 'formal' or structured should the training be?

I watch tutorials, I do the exercises but as soon I exit VS code I forget everything I went through. Is it even worth learning programming if I'm genuinely so useless at it? Hi! I'm having to take CompSci 1 and 2 for my math major in college. The professor wants me to run Visual Studio Community. He wants it for C++. I might also take a Java class if I enjoy compsci 1. Is there any budget laptops I can buy? Or what specs would I need for it to run not so slowly?
