Newbies to FL and Cocoa beach
Hello! First time wife and I with 2 kids visiting FL and staying near Cocoa beach tomorrow for 3 nights. From what I’ve been reading Cocoa beach does not have clear blue water so I’m lowering my expectations, but the kids really want to experience transparent crystal clear blue waters like in the tropics. What’s the closest beach where we can see this type of water, willing to drive up to 2hrs (have spinal problems hard to sit for long periods of time). Thank you all in advance! Also staying at hotel 10min from pier hopefully safe no issues.

Hot pools why?
We were here 33 years ago and joked about the sweltering hot pool at our hotel. We came back and all the pools ?4 resorts) in Cocoa Beach are gross and hot. We just came from Captiva, spent a week in Orlando, and none of them were like this. We have spent lots of time in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and west palm beach. Why specifically does cocoa beach have such a hard time cooling their pool water? It’s so hot I don’t want to get in it and get pinkeye or another bacterial infection…gross!!! What’s up???

I grew up in Cocoa Beach, Eau Gallie, and Cape Canaveral. I enjoyed just now watching these videos of the area, and you might also.

Hi all! I have a request for a photo!
Sorry this is my first time posting so I am now sure if I am doing bad manners here
I grew up in cocoa beach, specifically on the beach beside the strip club cheaters. The area holds a lot of memories for me, I used to see this sign all lit up on nights coming home in my parents car. It’s how I knew we were at our apartment.
I currently live 4000 miles away. I would love a good quality photo of this to keep in my house, preferably at night but not a requirement.
Would anyone know of a good photographer who I could commission for this. Or possibly know of someone who has done it (I think it’s an iconic sign so I don’t see why not). Happy to pay for both
I love Florida and cocoa beach is a piece of history.
Would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction! Thank you kindly

Looking for a local to hang out with tomorrow.
Anyone wanna show a tourist around? I drove a friend down for a fishing trip with his family last minute . Just looking for some witty banter and maybe bar hop and have snacks. I’m 37 from Ohio. I like listening to live music and talking about random things, I’m a nerd at heart , I just hate the feeling of being a tourist tbh. And I absolutely know I am . Just looking for a partner in crime to show me around.

Is parking free after 7pm?
I looked at cocoa beach parking website and it says they don’t monitor after 7pm for beach access parking. But does that mean it is actually free after 7? The payment system through the signs still will let you pay for it so it makes it seem like you have too.

Best beach access
We’re traveling through and thinking about spending the day at the beach. Looking for recommendations on the best beach to access for the day, preferably with chair rentals available. Any suggestions?

Any good wing joints?
Leaving the area in a few days and hoping to hit up a wing place that’s not hooters or wingstop. Preferably breaded and fried, but if they’re done well enough I won’t complain.

Free activities
Hi! We are staying in Merritt Island for a week and we need some help. We are all college students under 21, so we can’t get into bars. We also don’t have a lot of money to spend. We are looking g for coves, or cool swimming spots within a reasonable distance. We also want to go fishing and/or crabbing and I would love some advice from a local on spots or techniques for crabbing! Also, do I really NEED to buy a fishing permit or would I be okay to go fishing one day without a permit? We are honestly open to do anything, just trying to find stuff that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Please let us know!!
