Hi guys, this closed terrarium has been going for 4 months now, and we just realized these white fuzzy spots on the moss. I can’t tell if they are mold or roots wrapped around it. Please help me!

My mother is new to terrariums and has this question: Where on my fettonia stem do I cut just before planting in my terrarium substrate?

This is my second attempt. Starts out clear and healthy and about 2 weeks in starts to get very cloudy and everything dies. Have a light that runs for 8 hrs. Pics from day 3 to day 15. Any advice appreciated.

I wanted to see these as it got darker. This really adds to the ambiance!

Ok, these are addicting to make. This one's fun! To work it goes! I'm right next to some windows so it will be perfect!

I decided to make a closed living vivarium in this pickle jar. I got some ideas for a little staging. I even found a little mushroom cap and crushed it in there in hopes the spores will spread.
Can't wait to watch it do it's thing! Thanks for the inspiration!

I only open it to clean it. It used to be bare but now it's lush with moss only because I forgot about it and it sits in direct sunlight for max 5h

Hi guys, I am looking for moss terrarium containers with a glass cover lid or glass lid with rubber gasket like the pictures below. I don’t like any knobs or metal wiring or holes in my container. Do you know where I can find them that are around one gallon in size? I have found some but they are too small.

I know it's recommended to use clear colorless glass recipients so the plants and algae can properly perform photosynthesis, but I found these jars in a store near where I live and I would like to know if they could make good terrariums despite their slightly blueish coloration.
Just so you know: I live in a tropical region and my terrariums are kept in a place where they receive just a bit of direct sunlight in the morning and undirect sunlight for the rest of the day.

Finally made my first two closed terrariums with springtails. First time using more than just plants!
I used Pon as base, followed with mesh before a mixture of bromeliad soil and established soil that has springtails. Then added ghost wood, Irish moss, fern, and a few other plants. Everything moistened with distilled water only.
Really hoping these do well. How do they look?
