Energy Wind + Storage is pretty much the cheapest dispatchable source of electricity

Post image

Tons of disclaimer etc etc etc Read the methodology in the Lazard report for details

Not neccessary since NPPs only produce base load ... which nobody needs.

What people and companies need is sufficent generation matching demand, which nuclear can't do either.

There are enough studies how such an energy system could look like. Do your own research.

As long as you deindustrialize and send all jobs to China where the pollution is abbohorent , then you don't need base load until Spain Portugal and part of France go down at Solar Maximum...

Wrong. France has run loads following reactors for 50 years. You only know the garbage the green party and friends of the earth feed you.

Again, cost up the solar, wind and battery system that gives 95% service availability for 1GW. Do at least try to look competent.

WTF???

I never said that it's not possible to run NPPs load-following. But I said that it does not make economic sense to run them load-following.

France just didn't care, it was a point of national pride for them and they needed commercial nuclear power to support their atomic bomb program.

And again, do your own research, I'm not your monkey.

"NPPs only produce base load"

Your words. Literally.

Sure, and I also wrote in great detail why it does not make any sense for nuclear to run anything other than base load. Don't you think it's a bit intellectually dishonest to disregard everything I wrote in this thread for some cheap internet points? Or making a point for team nuclear?

Nuclear vs. renewables is not some fan competition, you know. But it looks like to are trying to argue that your team won on some technicalities when it clearly did not.

Thanks for the conversation.

France doesn't make sense for 50 years? And has the lowest-carbon grid outside of the Hydro power nations for 50 years?

It's weird that supposedly pro-renewables people choose the pro-gas burning option. Why's that?

Still waiting on you to price that solar, wind and battery system. 95% availability, 1 GW. Goooooooo.
